Pre workout nutrion becomes almost as important if not more important than post workout. I believe I read somewhere that if proper preworkout nutrition is taken, then postworkout nutrition is not as mandatory (but should still be taken)

I think everyone should practice proper pre and post workout nutrition, regardless of goals.

thremp have you ever seen this site? Read his evolutionary fitness articles...some interesting stuff... I don't really agree with his workout schemes per se, but the ideas are there, and the food/eating ideas are especially applicable...I don't know, let me know what you think...Getting old is inevitable ...

It isn't so much that its unnecessary, it is just poorly administered by most people. A lot of research shows no need for slamming large quantities of protein/carbs post workout...especially when you've had proper pre/peri nutrition. I didn't say it was worthless...merely that it is highly overrated in terms of what it is going to do for you. A good solid meal an hour afterwards will probably do more than your post-workout drink.
Most people probably take in way more fast acting carbs and way more protein post-workout than would ever be necessary.

As for the last point (about Surge and fat)...if you are trying to lose fat, you could certainly do without slamming large quantities of Surge. The need for a bevy of fast acting carbs post-workout is largely a myth.

^I agree that people don't necessarily do it correctly. For me, I take my shake, which has Whey, Oats, and Dextrose in it directly after. 1 to 1.5 hours later I have a solid meal; I think this is probably the best way to go about it (at least for myself)
