Some of the reebok crossfit options are decently priced, especially if you can find previous seasons colour combos. Do Wins are pretty cheap and alright.

I think this is the one high profile case study on the subject. It's difficult to read and the documentary is even more difficult to watch.

Pretty sure I didn't have anything to do with this one, as both of you were more than capable of spreading AIDS all over the thread yourselves, but your attention is always appreciated.

heaven forbid we talk about something other than how to cook a steak, tinder and beer/whisky

Learned about that guy with his penis accident in college, really crazy. Didn't know he took his life, really sad

Just picked up a 4pack of Petrus and a 6 pack of Rodenbach

cracked open a Petrus, massive disappointment. Classic fancylad winebeer so if you're in to that this would go over very well but definitely not my thing. Almost undrinkable

is it just me or does "three times less likely" not make any sense?

I'm praying you got the Rodenbach Grand Cru, because that trip report should be similarly satisfying.

Re: Spergin about gender roles

I bet if the women had been non-white they'd have had no problem keeping up with the men b/c they weren't raised as privileged princesses who don't have to do anything. Or working class whites.

Just kidding. But dead serious.

Yeah but then the ratings would have been terrible.

Wait you mean to say that not all women are like the women on popular television shows??

GTFO with your lies.

Does anyone know how accurate the GPS stuff in mapmywhatever is? I'm curious to turn it on for a football game and see how far I run, but no idea if it'd be pointless.

Dafuqs a mapmywhatever?

Mapmyrun, mapmyride, mapmywalk etc

Had to look it up.

I think the accuracy error will probably depend on the device and IDK what you have. I have a Galaxy S4 and my Google Location History has this much error in my location while I'm at work and connected to wi-fi. Note: I work in the white roofed building in the middle right.

I remember hearing once that civilian gps is not very accurate - for security reasons.

Not sure if that's still or even was a thing tho.

I trust this post has been helpful.

Aiden,

Haven't u already torn an Achilles and an ACL playing kickball? The powerlifting thing seems to be working out well. Maybe it is time to hang up the cleats for good and put on the (weightlifting) high heels.

Pretty sure civilian GPS used to be bad for security reasons but has been fixed since then. IME the map my run/walk/ride GPS is very accurate.

Since I was a bit bored I hopped into ye olde google machine.

According to http://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/perfo...cy/#difference JF is both correct and incorrect - Selective Availability, which greatly reduced accuracy for civ GPS, ended in 2000.

In practice civilian GPS is still less accurate due using only one frequency, but the signal can be augmented for civilian use as well. But for 99% of users that means civ GPS is still less accurate.

As usual Stackflow provides some decent answers: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...is-android-gps

Aidan is probably more interested in the precision in tracking local movement anyway, where the device's accelerometer comes into play. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acceler...er_electronics and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedometer. Seems like it comes down to the device used.

Judging from that pic, looks like you turn tricks on that curve and take your Johns to that house or garden...

I have a samsung galaxy ace, one of the cheaper ones. It does a reasonable job for bike rides, so ill try it out. I know jonfon did something similar for a pickup bball game.

Some of you bros might get a kick out of this.

Fun fact: Icelandic Government controls what people name their children.

Lovers of terrible metal,

Thoughts on this? Some guy online said he listened to "sludge" so I googled it and yeah, it's some pretty crazy type of metal. Awesome name for a genre of music, but about as enjoyable as a Petrus.

I work for mapmyfitness. The answer is kind of complicated. If you were jogging laps or running along the sidewalk or something, in general the results are pretty good, even though cell phone GPS is generally kind of hit-or-miss.

Playing football or something, though, I think the results are probably going to be not that great. If you run 5 feet one way and then 2 feet the other way and then 4 feet the other way I really doubt it's going to record 11 feet.

Using a device with higher accuracy might help. There are dedicated GPS devices that integrate with mapmyfitness and other sites, made by Garmin, etc. If I record a bike ride with my phone and a garmin at the same time, the garmin track is really obviously more accurate.
