I really liked this. Less sweet than any other Quad I have had.

Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs of Christmas:
best Christmas beer

Southern Tier Choklat:
very good milkshake in beer form

Columbus Brewing Company Sohio Stout:
coffee stout made with beans from a good local roaster. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/341/88275/
The beer itself is not that good. Too sweet and too heavy and not in a good way like BCBS.

CBC Bodhi:
fantastic

Woo New Year!

Past couple weeks have been bad. My neck and lower back have been suffering. Lower back is better but neck is still sore. I started focusing on stretches for my traps over the past couple of days and maybe it's making it better. I can't really tell.

Today:

LBBS:
3x5x225

Bench:
3x5x225

Deadlift:
5x315

Chin-ups:
3x5

Pathetic numbers. Back squat bar position felt very strange with tight traps. Seems like there is impingement on right side. What's less worrying is how bad my conditioning is. I was utterly exhausted after the deadlifts and it took me about 6-7 minutes to breathe normally.

Had drill all weekend so too tired to go the the gym this morning. On Saturday morning I ran 2 miles in 14:51 which was very easy. Worked some long days on Saturday and Sunday and did not eat too healthy, but also only drank two beers on Friday night.

Deadlift:

Squat and Press felt very easy. Deadlift was pretty sloppy. Hips were too low in starting position and extension on a couple of the middle reps may have been sketchy.

Felt very tired and weak today. Back was kind of sore in the thoracic area so I chose not to squat. Not a very good workout overall. Going to NYC tomorrow for 4 days so that's probably not going to help.

I didn't mean to put 165 on the bar; it was supposed to be 155 but that's what happens when you go to the gym at 5 am.

Deadlift:
1x 315, 325, 335, 345, 355, 365

Squat sets 2 and 3 were pretty difficult but press and deadlift felt great. The set of 5 deadlifts was my best set of deadlifts in a while. I can probably grind out another 10 lb. jump for squats on Wednesday but I will probably just go with 5.

Super bowl beers:
Oproer Imperial Oatmeal Stout (https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/oproer...-stout/389517/)
Anarkriek (https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/t-hofb...rkriek/213705/)

The Oproer is not worth purchasing. The label has a reference how the brewery is co-located with a vegan restaurant. In hindsight that was a pretty big red flag.

The Anarkriek was pretty interesting. Very sour with some chocolate notes. Definitely worth trying if you are into cherries.

Everything felt pretty damn heavy. Squat form was decent but not as good as I wanted it. Definitely felt myself losing a bit of tension in the bottom on the last reps of set 2 and 3. The plan right now is to do 295 on Friday and then hit 305/310/315 for sets next week.

I'm not really sure how much strength you should gain in a certain time frame, but 15lbs added to bench over 4 months doesn't seem like a lot. Have you tried to go heavier?

Kind of a disappointing workout. Knew as soon as I started the second set of 310 that five sets of three were not happening. 355 felt easy though.

Beer last night:
"Milkkeller" Last Seen With Milk Stout
https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13307/183765/

I'm not sure if this is the same as the Mikkeller Milk Stout or a different beer. It's absolutely fantastic if you are into milk stouts.

3 Floyds Gumballhead:
https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26/9478/

I hadn't had this in a few years b/c 3F didn't distribute in Ohio until fairly recently. My fiancee took this out of the fridge before it was cold enough so the taste was off.

Also had a Weihenstephaner.

Entertaining log. What are your PRs? I'm impressed you're able to progress on top of doing what looks like a decent amount of cardio and barely sleeping.

My sleep is usually pretty good but switching to AM workouts and waking up at 4:45 is...not optimal.

PRs are:
Squat:
430

Bench:
340

Press:
225

Deadlift:
2x450

and I think I have an Oly total of like 205 kg or something pathetic like that.

You can see most of the vids either earlier in the log or in the whiteboard. My issue has been recurring SI pain that comes on when I get to like 5x350 on the squat. It started when I was deployed to Afghanistan. I've had to rest and do an almost total deload numerous times because of it which is really hampering me.
