Hell yea. 12:30? Football doesn't start til 3 so we won't have to miss any of that which is good.

Hopefully Bixby will be coming. I'll just need the name of the place or the address again at some point - don't remember from last time.

You should totally come. I was actually gonna talk to you about the rumble roller as well, whether you came or not. I'd definitely be interesting in buying that off you if you wanna bring it.

You are absolutely invited. Bixby too, though I assume Saw will take care of that. 12:30pm on Sunday at Sakura in Winchester.

As far as football goes, I should have room at my house if anyone wants to stay in Medford. My living room seats at least 10, and generally only a couple people come over for the games, but I'm not positive what it will be like this weekend.

** this sounds like a ton of fun (except the football - not even once for me).

Let's be real here, though, it will likely end up being just a bunch of bitter eastcoasters with weird accents saying harsh things about trivial stuff. There. That makes me feel better about having no chance to attend.

We'll try to avoid such topics as your total.

. It's true though, I would appreciate that.

How about you all talk about how fat saw is, . Like, every time he orders another roll, just make oinking noises and pointing at him. That seems pretty EastCoasterny.

None of us have accents. Though I'm sure the commentary will be at DT beer approved levels of bitterness.

Haven't you been frolicking in the woods with KY and Soulman before? IMO that's much more fun than sitting around whining about life trying to push our BMIs to obese levels.

I'm a solid 120# off my best total and you and Saw are even worse off I'm sure, so it'll be a win if we can manage to not turn it into an eat your feelings pity party.

So I guess we're committed to this crossfit thing for a month. Not a big deal, even if 75% of it is stupid bull****, 25% still might make it's way into my brogramming going forward.

1-21 2nd Crossfit Workout

Strength:
-In 20 minutes, do 5 heavy front squat doubles. I did 235, 245, 255, 245, 235 and the GF did 105, 110, 105, 105, 105. Everybody else in the class was loltastically weak. Girls doing the empty bar. No other guys doing heavier than 205. The performance bar is just set so ridiculously low. The coach asked if I'd be interested in joining the "heavy" team or whatever that is but I declined, then he strongly recommended it but I stayed firm because I'm not lifting at 5:30am and I'm not abandoning my GF to get destroyed by their coaching. I got the impression they try to segregate the classes by strength so as to create a more friendly environment. Great, it's a well-disguised Planet Fitness.

Conditioning:
3 Rounds-
DL 185x15
Toe to Bar x 15
24 inch box jump x 15
-Went slow and it took me like 10 minutes. T2Bs at a fast pace is a stupid movement, with the spinal flexion and the encouraged kip. Would've preferred L pullups or something of the ilk.

Errybody doing xfit these days.

It sounds at least like this gym has a somewhat consistent strength training program whereas my gym's programming (and many others) does not appear to have any discernible strength programming. So it's possible you are going to one of the better "boxes."

[red]1-23 3rd Crossfit Workout[/red]

Strength:
-In ~15 minutes, do 5 heavy sets of 5 for bench press alternating with a partner. Due to the time constraint I did 170, 175, 180, 175, 170 and my GF did 80x5x5. The head female trainer gave some pretty good bench cues to the group, but then the enforcement of the cues was pretty bad. They seemed to key in on **** that really doesn't matter, like contacting the ground with your heels instead of your toes, but then ignoring massive elbow flare, divebomb bouncing, wrist position under the bar, etc. Most of the dudes definitely bench more than they squat as plenty of people were doing sets at 225.

Conditioning:

Row 600m, then

3 Rounds-
Wallballs x 40
Clapping Pushups x 20
-Clearly the key to this workout is good technique in the wallballs so that your shoulders and triceps aren't completely fried for the pushups. I finished the row first without really trying, then did the wallballs in sets of 10-15 and the pushups in sets of 10, finishing around the middle of the pack. Overall I paced myself too much but whatever. Wallballs are much more annoying that I expected; as any deviation from a perfect throw makes catching the rebound much more difficult. I guess this is how crossfit trains "precision."

Only GGO is that the head trainer asked me how I was liking it so far and I told her I could use a molly and some glow sticks (because they blast trance at deafening levels for the whole workout) but otherwise it was cool. She kind of blank stared through me and walked away.

Also saw a would/would/would, first one in this gym.

1-29 4th Crossfit Workout

Strength:
Each minute on the minute for 12 minutes do 2 touch and go squat cleans. They had to be touch and go for some reason. Start light, but add weight every time you make. I think I went:

95x2, 115x2, 145x2, 165x2, 175x2, 185xClark, 185x2, 205xClark, 205x2, 215xClark, 215x2, 225x2

The Clarks were intentional to get some more rest.

I was pretty surprised I could clean 225x2 in a fatigued state right now. Having bars that turn well definitely helps. I also suspect the "Again Faster" bumper plates are lighter than they're supposed to be.

Conditioning:
10 Thrusters (95#)
10 TTB
20 walking lunges
10 Thrusters (95#)
20 TTB
20 walking lunges
10 Thrusters (95#)
30 TTB
20 walking lunges

Waaaaay too many overhead reps for my liking. Took like 11 mins.

Yugo, when I go (anywhere from 5:30pm to 7:30pm) everybody is pretty casual. I assume the people hardcore enough to get rhabdo are doing the 5:30am classes.

A clark is basically a clean pull. You deadlift the weight up to your thighs and probably make some lame attempt at high pulling it, but you do not even attempt to get under it.

Basically it is quitting on a clean mid-lift.
