We made a challenge for ourselves with buddy to achieve fitness body in 6 months.

It's been 2 months already and I dropped from 180 LBS 20% Body Fat >

168 LBS > 13-14% Body fat.

I am using intermit fasting, + working out 3 times per week + 2 days per week doing cardio.

But I noticed that for the last 2 weeks my results stopped improving, because I have huge craving for bad carbs, - especially cheesecake, lol.

There is a starbucks in my building, and whenever I go out of my building where I live its so tempting to get the cheesecake and I dont know what is happening.

I never in my life had a craving for sweets or cheesecakes.

My diet basically consists of:

In the morning 12 egg whites + vegetables (protein shake)
After workout > Chicken or Fish fillet + vegetables (protein shake)
For the dinner > Some small meal.

What can i do to not have such a craving for these bad carbs?
I doubt I will make this challenge if I will continually eat cheesecakes.

I doubt you will make this challenge without steroids

at 180 and 20% you had 144lbs of LBM

at 175 and 8% you'll have 161lbs of LMB

It would be very tough to put on 17 lbs of LBM in 6 months, let alone doing it while losing weight throughout the process. I'd say this is more of a 2-3 year goal.

+1 to Spenda also.

I have OP gaining less than 1 lb of muscle in the last two months according to his own numbers. Then all of a sudden he is going to gain 16 lbs of muscle in 4 months?

Cheesecake is not the problem.. You need Arnold Schwarzenegger's
breakfast of champions. Even with that its going to be tough. I have similar goal but I have given myself most of the next 20 years to accomplish it all natural, not 6 months.

I had a double from smashburger today. And some sweet potato fries. Yum yum yum. Had to treat myself. I am very disturbed. Had been working out 7 days a week for the last 10 days. First signs of overtraining showed up. So sad, I was hoping I had super genes.

Ok thanks for replies guys... I still think that I will be able to maintain 2lb pure muscle growth.

Also its hard to measure body fat % accurately.

Maybe you know what is the most accurate method for measuring body fat - exept measuring it in the water.

Orly?

But yea, seems like a situation where you're probably gonna end up nowhere close to your goals in 6 months but you'll be much better off for being on the way. GL.

Can't OP be slightly applauded for his challenge? Just b/c his goals are unrealistic, I mean, just getting to 8% bodyfat in that time frame is very solid if that's his main goal. Of course, when he says 8% he may mean something other than a real 8% and more of "kind of 8%". Is there any way to truly know you're at 8% anyway unless you do a tank test? Or are those even accurate enough at that low of bf%?

First of all, relax. You can do this. See my thread "Can we get back in shape @ 45? "

Forget the cheesecakes...your meals are all wrong. First of all, eat more often, and with smaller portions....

12 egg whites? Eat two (2) eggs (with the yolkes All of that stuff about egg yolks causing cholesterol has been debunked). 2.5 hours later eat fruit or a ProBar (or other fitness bar with 200 calories or less). Eat a lunch with both protein and carb. Eat an afternoon snack (fruit or nuts) and Eat a sensible meal for dinner. Eat all of the salads and fruit you want.

Not big on shakes or powders. Whole foods are better. Your body burns more calories when it has to break down solid foods, than when it digests shakes. Eat Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, etc. These are great carbs.

The main theme...Eat more often , but smaller portions. Also, No bread or refined sugar. That includes cheese cakes. Starbucks has dried fruit for sale in snack bags that run about 200 calories. They also have nut mixes with a similar calorie count. If you are constatnly snacking on smaller meals then you will never be hungry and have less cravings for bad carbs. I'm not a doctor, but I did this myself and saw the results for myself.

Also, in the gym, do exercises that are designed for fat burning. Work out three times a week. On the days inbetween, run 2-3 miles. The pound will burn off in no time.

Good Luck!

Well for starters, Exercise routines that involve high repetition and super setting.

The movements themselves are not necessarily important. You want to focus on form of course, but also on high repetition and short rest time inbetween sets.

Has to be, and it's pretty well done from meal frequency to #'s of reps for fat burning.

I don't really see the point of setting some arbitrary goal like 175 pounds, 8% bf, especially considering determining bodyfat is such an inexact science anyways.

Instead you should just ask yourself, "When I am at the gym do I pretend to wipe sweat off my forehead with the bottom of my T shirt so I can flex my abs in the mirror, and if yes am I pleased with what I see?"

If the answer to both these questions is yes, congratulations. If no, keep grinding.
