Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
Well, now that it's peer reviewed I'll have to watch it. Just as soon as I can control my ADD enough to spend 5 mins watching an entire youtube video.

Squat
45x3x3
65x3x1
85x3x1
105x3x1
120x3x3
Bench
45x5x3
50x5x1
60x3x1
70x5x3
Kept squats at same weight. Much better. Should be able to move up fine next workout....which of course is day of 2p2 party. Stupid life getting in the way of gym.
Bench I didn't think I was gonna get 70 after doing the warmup at 60 but bf had faith and I managed. Yay. Super swole obv.
Didn't do deadlift to give my wrist more time to rest. Feels a LOT better but still some twinge and I kinda need that hand imo.

Squats:
45x3x3
65x3x1
85x3x1
105x3x1
125x3x3
Press:
45x3x3
50x3x1
55x3x1
60x1.5 FAIL
57.5x3x2
Squats felt really good until work set. Work set was hard. Whatevs.
Press felt ok until work set and then it just wasn't going up anymore. Didn't help that somehow I tweaked my knee standing up in between sets. Sharp pain. Ugh.
Decided not to do deads cuz of knee. Sucks because I will be traveling next three days. Also I'm in a play and rehearsals are really cutting into my time. Tired. Wish I was one of those people that can just go to the gym when they are depressed. I feel pretty useless at the moment.

Bench

RDL
95x5x3
115x3x1
DL
135x2x1
155x5x1
Been bad and haven't gone to the gym in a week so kept weights same except for deadlift. Squats felt ok whatevs. Bench I think is what caused my wrist issues a couple of weeks ago. My left hand was off and wrist was bent cuz its weak. Tried to fix that and seems better.
Deads form felt good. Remembered to start with knees. Work set was heavy. Almost didn't get last rep. Chalk was coming off and it was heavy. But I did it and now I'm wiped out.

Squat
45x3x3
75x3x1
105x3x1
130x3x3
Bench
45x5x3
55x3x1
65x3x1
75x5x1
75x4x1
72.5x3x1
Deadlift
135x5x1
145x3x1
155x2x1
165x5x1
Squats felt good. Think plates should be no prob next workout.
Bench I failed second work set, then failed when I lowered weights. Not sure if I should just go down to 2.5 lb jumps or triples or both.
Deadlifts felt good. Switched to alternate grip at 155 and made a big diff. Hands need to toughen up though the knurling effing hurts. Also left wrist kinda twingy now ick.

Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
Ohai.
Didn't want to post until I proved to myself that I was back in the groove. Not traveling every other week is helping a lot.
Started back up this month. Began at 75lb squat and successfully squatted plates yesterday. Doing triples for squat and press and I think press is starting to be less ****ty form-wise. Been neglecting deadlifts for pull-throughs but starting up deadlifts again now. Deadlifted 135 the other day and planning to do 10lbs jumps until I hate myself.
Was re-inspired after reading some of the chick threads in the SS forums. Decided to just ignore diet for the most part (other than making sure to eat moar and moar protein) and let the cards fall where they may, which is why I think I was able to jump back up to 135 so quickly with really no major difficulties. Probably also helps that I had some post-holiday excess flab. I haven't lost any weight, but I haven't gained any weight and I do think my waist/butt are noticeably tighter so I suppose I'll stick with this while I gain muscle.

I just squatted 140lbs which is officially a personal best. So go me.
Failed 75lb bench. Did 70lb the other day but failed 75 on last rep of first set and then dropping down to 70 I couldn't even do. Guess it's time to drop to 2.5lb jumps.

Squatted 145 today. Boom. Last time bf pointed out some form issues. Apparently they looked better today so feels pretty good going up in weight while improving form. Today felt heavy though. Harder to keep shoulders tight.
Failed 65 press, which I kinda expected. Form still needs work and I just failed at 75 for bench. Dropped to 62.5 for next set but didn't wait very long and failed that set too. Completed final set at 60.
Was going to do deads but I really haven't eaten today. Oops. Stupid adderall. Also I just don't really feel like deadlifting lately. Seems like a lot of work to set up. So it'll be pretty funny when I do get back into it and I start with my dl lower than my squat.

Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
Today I squatted 150 lbs. 15lbs to body weight. Just 3 workouts if I can maintain these 5lb jumps.
Also successfully benched 72.5lbs. Bar path was wobbly though.

Did 155 but it was a grind. Weight is coming forward and I feel it in my lower back which is not good. Bf said they didn't look super different but they felt way different.
Press sucked like it always sucked. I did get through 62.5 but really had to grind out last rep. Not helping that my lower back is tired out from squat. Can't stay tight.
So close to 165 but worried about next 5 lb jump in squat. Such a small amount to go up relatively yet the jump from 150 to 155 seems to have hit me.

Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
Pretty standard to lose the weight forwards when you're close to failing the squat. I'd consider repeating the weight instead of going to 165, unless that day was particularly bad due to lack of sleep/food etc.
I switched it around when I did SS so I did the press to start. Didn't seem to affect the squat too much, but the squat def had an effect on the press.

Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
Been kinda thinking about future training and aesthetics goals. I definitely can feel that I have gained muscle mass, but I still have a decent amount of flab (mostly just stomach area) so at some point I'm going to want to cut. I don't think I've been overeating a ton, as I haven't gained any weight, so I'm wondering if I should just continue at maintenance and hope that as my workouts get heavier that body recomp continues positively.
I was looking at the weight standards chart just to get an overall sense of where I'm at. It seems early to be maximizing ss gains for squat, but at the same time I have done this before so I think I've got some muscle memory in my favor. It does seem like my squat is already at intermediate level so I imagine that's why I'm feeling like I'm reaching a sticking point.
So I'm wondering where do I go next? I want to try to maximize linear gains for as long as I can, but I'm planning on dropping down to 2.5lb jumps for squat starting tonight. Suggestions are very welcome. I have Practical Programming to read through, too.
Random note: man, I've been really thirsty lately!

157.5 squat done and done. Bf gave me a cue to help with knee cave and it really did. Need to remember it for next time since he gave it to me only on workset but it def helped. Lower back felt way better than last workout.
Also got a form correction for bench and so 75 went up much easier. Much more stable. Feels good man.

Re: Deebz' *SS Means Super Sexy* Log
2.5 lbs gains on the squat sounds good. Also consider squatting heavy 2/week and light 1/week, aka the advanced novice template.
You can certainly try recomping once you start stalling out, then cut after a while.
