Hey all,

Popping in to say hi and acknowledge the fact that I didn't die or anything. When I last logged, I had 1 week left of Project Momentum.

I finished the week, but wasn't having much fun and never tested my maxes again. The injuries were adding up and I felt like I was routinely pushing myself to my limits which was taking a massive toll on me physically and mentally. In addition, I seemed to be getting weaker.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend running PM. It was fun for awhile, and I actually made decent progress during the first phase. However I started breaking down in the 2nd phase and lost all of that progress. Frustration built up and I started hating going to the gym.

I took 3 weeks off from the gym after PM to clear my head. I also started focusing on my online business (a store for powerlifters) and started grinding online poker again. I actually used to be very good at online poker, but was too young and stupid to find long-term success (regularly tilted off $50k+ as a 16-24 year old).

My business is slightly below breakeven, but poker has been pretty good. If anyone is interested in some custom powerlifting tee-shirts, PM me and I'll send you a link!

In terms of lifting, I've been running Calgary Barbell's 16-week program and I'm really enjoying it! I'm not doing multiple sets of RPE9 anymore, and I've had a chance to do more volume with more varied exercises.

The program can be found here: http://www.calgarybarbell.com/free-16week-program/ . I just finished week 6.

I might start logging again here but I don't have a timeline for that. I think logging my workouts was much more exciting when I was doing my own programming and could keep track of how I felt, etc so I could figure out how to change my programming going forwards.

I just finished up the Calgary Barbell 16-week program and did a Mock Meet today. It wasn't a "true" Mock meet, since I went for 4 attempts, but whatever.

Squat: 430, 465, 501, 508 (previous max was 510, I could have hit that today)
Bench: 275, 290, 305 (fail), 300 (PR +20lbs)
Deadlift: 443, 486, 513 (fail), 500 (fail) (previous max was 515).
Total: 1294
Bodyweight: 215

My performance was alright. 508 on squat moved WAAAY faster than my previous max of 510. I probably could have hit 515 today, maybe more.

Bench was fantastic. However I might get red-lighted on my butt leaving the bench in a meet (it's close). 305 ate me up, but my technique sucked. 300 was much easier.

Deadlift sucked. Once I got above 500 I could barely break the floor. I think I was just run down. Deadlift had been feeling good over the last couple of months. 486 was quite fast. It's definitely not my true max.
