Starting to doubt whether I have "advanced" training status. These training sessions are killing me. 7 sets for 4 big lifts. I also don't like that it takes about 20 mins to get through every lift, so with accessory lifts I'm at the gym for about 1 hour 15 mins instead of the customary 45-50.

I have a weird pinching nerve type pain in my arm above the elbow joint that is exacerbated by cleans and started when I had to drop and catch the bar for jerks. It's an aching pain deep in the arm. Anyone have any idea what this is? It hurts when I catch the clean from the bottom and is making me catch the bar with my elbows lower than they otherwise would be. Plus it ****ing hurts. Also, the pain was alleviated a bit when I foam-rolled the area in between sets of overhead press.

When I put the last one down, I experienced some odd euphoric dizziness. Different from the type one gets from heavy squats or deadlift. It was weird.

I am beat up right now. My shoulder joints and my left elbow joint ache. I think this may just be GPP-related issues due to them not being used to the workload of multiple days of 5+ sets in the snatch and C&J. I hope.

I suppose I can't keep up this training volume on any kind of a deficit. The only other time I felt this kind of generalized joint pain was on Sundays after very intense strongman sessions. I'd usually spend the rest of the day eating, near comatose on the couch. Something has to give.

In other news, I finally set a date for training with Jon North, can't wait to get in there and find out all the things I'm doing wrong.

Scheduling mixup with Jon North, will be going tomorrow instead of today. The guy said he had to train 3 (3?!?!?) times today and he was very sorry.

Snatch

did the bar 5 sets of 3 reps, breaking the snatch up into 3 parts. This really helped my 2nd pull. I keep on hitting the bar with my thigh, leading to a ****ty catch.

I have a new problem. My catch position sometimes is a bit low, and when that happens my left elbow bears the brunt of the downward force and FLARES up in some sort of aching pain above the elbow on the lateral side. It is seriously ****ing with me cause I lose a ton of speed in the jerk. Might be time to see a chiro. It happens nearly everytime I C&J now. And it's so demoralizing cause I know I'm faster/stronger than this.

Missed a Friday workout cause I am down in LA for a wedding (an awful Afghan wedding, the absolute worst kind). Found a 24 hour fitness though, and they did not have a SINGLE 1x1 bit of space available for me to do snatches or clean and jerk, so I had to just do assistance stuff. Also, no foam rolls.

They start at ~7pm, food is served around 11:30-12AM, so you have to wait around starving for hours, all the while horrible music is blaring at deafening levels. And while this is all going down, a vital component, one that greases the wheels of any wedding, is missing... NO ****ING LIQUOR! Everyone's even more Muslim on wedding day, so Allah forbid anyone gets drunk! Worst ****ing weddings ever.

I'm Afghan btw.

Impressive volume. I tried volume like this about a year ago iirc, even less actually and I thought I was going to die. Otoh, I think Parlay Slow trains like this all the time (idk about volume, but frequently and to max).

called it at that point cause of my elbow. I was not expecting to power clean 285, but it absolutely FLEW off the ground into the catch position. I was so surprised I almost fell over. Pretty cool.
