Re: cobrastatus' log

So I was going to write this from a hospital bed, but when I logged on the public hospital internet, I got a message that said "Your provider has blocked access to this page. Reason: Gambling." LOL

I got a phone call this morning saying my blood culture was positive for bacteria, meaning I have sepsis. I have had a 1 degree fever for 4 days now, and I feel almost completely fine. The ER doctor consulted with an infectious disease specialist and a GI specialist and coupled with my blood work showing normal lactic acid concentration. They gave me an IV antibiotic and discharged me, and the sepsis is in, I suppose the word is, remission.

I am so ****ing pissed that it got to this point though. THREE doctors (one a renowned GI specialist!) before one of them said, OH you're bleeding from the ass and you are exhibiting systemic inflammation? Maybe we should test your blood and stool. I hate this, but as I left the hospital the first thought that occurred to me was someone needs to get sued. ****ing BS.

Definitely negligent. Are you still on oral antibiotics?

I'd definitely take some kind of action. That's some truly horrid work.

Jerks

240 x 2
240 x 2

romanian deadlift complex with standing ab curls

275 lbs x 2

180 lbs x 10

3 cycles

so I neglected to mention this, but my training has obviously changed since the first post I made in this thread. I have become somewhat obsessed with the olympic lifts, and in preparation for Cal Strength, I decided to try one of the programs from Practical Programming for Strength Training (just finished reading it).

I opted for the hormonal fluctuation model cause there was a nifty spreadsheet for it. So far it is kicking my ass, but I am loving it because of all the technique work. I am pretty confident in my clean form, as I can squat clean ~320, but my snatch needs A LOT of work. Just watching lots of cal strength vids and doing lots of oly lifting until my first session with Jon North.

Re: cobrastatus' log

So far it is a pretty hard program and I have not even reached the weeks of maximum intensity (3-4). Beginning of week 2. Also decided I can't be on a deficit for this program, so my hawt body will have to wait.

Also, everything these days is raw and beltless. Also chalkless because I forgot chalk.

mobility warmups

Snatch

bar x 3
135 x 2
135 x 2
135 x 2
145 x 2
145 x 2
145 x 2
145 x 2

My pull was very smooth as was the catch tonight.

Clean

145 x 2
185 x 2
185 x 2
225 x 2
225 x 2
225 x 2
225 x 2

Jerks

135 x 2
135 x 2
185 x 2

255 x 2
255 x 2
255 x 2
255 x 2
255 x 1

I actually missed and bailed on the last one, and bent the **** out of the bar. Fortunately, the people watching were more awed by it than angered, and no one narc'd on me. It's really ****ing tiring when I can't drop the weight between jerks, and it really hurts my left elbow to catch the bar and reset for rep 2. Guess I have to go to a crossfit box... god damn it.

Back Squat

185 x 2
215 x 2
225 x 2

340 x 2
340 x 2
340 x 2
340 x 2

Russian twists

3x12
