There is a cost to having (relatively) elite strength. Look at G4S. I think most elite strength athletes go through a ton of **** all the time. The bottom line is the human body is not made to take that kind of stress, and **** breaks down as a result.

Def correct.
On that note, I found this pretty interesting. http://weightliftingepiphanies.blogs...-delivery.html.
Cliffs are that one can get to fairly high/near elite strength levels training 2 days a week, preventing a lot of the injuries and costs typically associated with high levels of strength. He's coaching a guy who is front squatting 191kg@97kg training 2 days a week and working 50+. Not g4s levels of course.

Meh. All the more reason to be diligent with ART, SMR etc. Afaik busto has been good at that lately, but **** earlier. Imo he also tends to overtrain, which doesn't help. And I don't think comparing G4S and busto is too relevant, even if busto is pretty strong he's not really in the same league.

Re: Busto will never be a great PLer.. train for aesthetics
I think anyone that trains hard at pretty much anything is gonna have a lot of wear-and-tear and "injuries" of various degree of seriousness.
That is why I am so skeptical of all the newbs who do SS for a couple months and then quit because of an "injury." IMO, most of the time these "injuries" are just standard **** people that work out consistently deal with and work though.

Yes, probably. But imo it's still gonna vary a lot, depending on how intelligent the trainee is, plus stuff out of his control like genetics.

Soul- Haven't been doing much soft tissue work because I'm a fool. Just did some now, tho.
6/8
inverted rows
2x15
1x12
2x10
barbell curls
3 sets
shoulder prehabs
Decided to get a small session in because I pvc'd me lats and wanted to see if they felt better.. they do, and I also did 7 muscle up singles.

Re: Busto will never be a great PLer.. train for aesthetics
Since I do a higher rep training program I get beat up on the regular too
I started doing extra prehab stuff in the morning and it helps a little, but you're basically going to be always nicked up with so many sets/reps, the key is shutting the **** up and going to the gym regardless

Re: Busto will never be a great PLer.. train for aesthetics
Not doing regular smr (and ART if necessary) when you lift a lot will eventually **** you up, especially as you age. You do need more of that the more you push yourself, and you are at higher risk for everything the harder you push yourself. But doing the soft tissue & mobility stuff you're supposed to do, along with not doing dumb stuff should keep you free from injury, assuming you dont over-train. yeah, deloads are good sometimes.

Re: Busto will never be a great PLer.. train for aesthetics
I really haven't been on it with the soft tissue and/or mobility work. The only thing I'm really good about is doing some type of shoulder prehabs every session. I'll be better, tho lol...
6/9
bench (supposed to do speed work, but extensors acting up smh)
bar x20
95x8
135x3
175x3 x2
195x3
225x3
245x2
265x1 paused
275x1 paused
incline
135x10
155x10
155x8
135x10
machine press
3 sets
klokov press
bar x10
65x5
85x5
105x3
115x1
135x4 (attempted 5th)
85x5, drop to 65x5, drop to bar x5
rope hammer curl + ab pulldown + face pull
3 sets
probably did like 6 total sets of rope curls *shrug*. I'm starting a keto diet tomorrow most likely, and I'll go back to training 4x a week just hitting press/bench/squat/dl in some order. I'll throw in PC/PS and push presses when I am ready.
