Yeah, urban biking is not for the weak in London - very serious biz. Amsterdam is better in the sense that everyone's driving really crappy city bikes (prob so they can dump them anywhere with no fear of them being stolen) so speed is lower. On the other hand bikes are absolutely everywhere there so you really need to pay attention when you're on foot.

Agreed, exactly this. The 300+ monsters are rare enough that you still turn your head if one passes by. On the other hand I noticed a fairly big difference in between states in #1 as well. Noticed very few 300+ in Cali, way more in Utah e.g.
