Squats were much better than last time, 190 next. Accidentally microloaded press (forgot to put a weight on one side) but that was probably a good call because I barely made it. Used the "shift your grip slightly to one side" technique (from Miles Dyson iirc?), seemed to work ok, although I have washers for when I'm ready. PC happened.

Workout after a round of golf (carrying) probably not ideal, but meh...

9/17/2011:

Squat: 3x5 @ 190
Bench: 3x5 @ 140
DL: 1x5 @ 233

Squats were brutally tough, surprised to get through them. Probably can do better with depth, will probably repeat for that reason. Almost failed the 5th reps on the 2nd and 3rd set for bench so I'm reluctant to move up next time, but I will if I can get a spotter. DL was heavy, really kinda felt myself getting driven into the ground, and I bet I lost extension on by back... will video 243 for analysis. Also considering switching to alternate grip soonish.

Thinking my maintenance is lower than what'd be estimated for me, or my food is lying to me, or I'm terrible at counting macros, or some combination, because the weight thing is a little out of control. Gonna back off the calories a bit and hope it doesn't mess me up too much as far as the lifts.

Squats were kinda insane, last rep was very much in question. Bench was a bit disappointing, actually failed the last rep (not a non attempt), should really get a spotter... was somewhat lucky to not injure myself there. I should probably eat more, haha. DL was alright, switched to alternate grip.

Squats are getting really tough, there's no way my form is good at this point, I feel like I'm gonna die just getting under the bar... I'll probably reset at some point and try and square that all up. At least I was better than the dude doing 335lb 1/4 squats next to me with his tiny girlfriend spotting him (holding the bar on his shoulders?)... OHP was real nice, 95 next time no question. Used those 4x10oz washers for the first time. Core strength is getting to be an issue, which is kinda cool, because that means I'm probably improving my core strength... PCs were a little ugly, quickly learning how to get into the rack position because it's a bit painful when I miss haha. Gonna micro up to 133 next time (bigger bumpers) and hope to clean up the form a little bit.

Did terrible things this weekend. Probably like 8k calories with not nearly enough protein and too much booze and not enough sleep. Back on track today hopefully.

Crazy squats, certainly leaning too far forward and like close to dying in the middle of the set but we'll see. No idea what's up with that bench, like really no idea. Except I was tired all day and kind of expected a sucky workout but meh. I suppose 145 again next time and reset if fail...? DL was great though actually, pretty careful/controlled, think I had solid form.

So I'm pretty sure that's not right, but I guess it's possible. Been pretty careful lately except the weekend.

In general this has been a pretty crappy week... for some reason I'm tired all the time despite getting 8+ hours of sleep, I've been really sore (almost like DOMS but not) which is weird, I'm making backwards progress on bench press, plus this weigh-in was pretty lame... can't work out tonight so hopefully we get Thurdsay/Saturday in.

On a daily basis, definitely. Less even. I'm targeting like 1.8-1.9k rest days and 2.1-2.2k workout days. That turns out pretty maintenance-y for me I think, either because my daily requirements are a tick lower than what a calculator would say or because I underestimate what I eat a little bit. The big jumps in weight seem to be directly tied to cheat days (spent a day bumming around the city drinking beer/eating nachos), or really just any night going out drinking, etc. That being said if I chill out a bit this weekend I anticipate shedding some of that weight, since I definitely didn't eat enough to put on 1.5lb over the past week... I think...

That's the answer to the 2500 thing anyway. Like Soulman mentioned not exactly sure what you mean on the clean thing.

I see the term "clean" thrown around in terms of "clean eating" and "clean bulking."

Generally:
Clean eating = eating mostly whole, nutrient-rich foods (although the already subjective definitions vary)
Clean bulking = bulking slowly (~10% above maint) to avoid putting on much/any fat (although the already subjective definitions vary)
