Sensei,

Wanna play if I can figure out how to challenge you? I don't wanna okay timed cause I am working but I will play pretty fast. won't take more than a minute or two at most to move.

Also yugo,

I am around for awhile if unwant to try to finish our game.
04-02-2015 , 03:08 PM
Anyone is welcome to challenge me (same name) but I must insist on at least 1 day per turn (I'm usually much faster though). Currently playing Yugo- pretty sure he's got some Sun Tzu level traps about to spring.

Listenimg to broz. Like evo says, he is a good talker and sells himself real well. If I was a newbie lifter I would be drinking the Kool aid and thinking I could do 13 heavy squat sessions a week too.

That's the problem with newbies, they don't actually listen to the words he says. Especially the part where he says newbies shouldn't squat heavy...

Fair enough

Just looked at your board sensei. That is brutal. I don't know how fast you can play an endgame like that but with 4 more seconds you should be able to get the mate I think if ur internet doesn't lag.

yea, i was able to reopen the game and look at the chat. I need to get better at making sure I've looked at all the pieces so that I don't commit those types of blunders. Hard to do that as a noob and multi-tasking.

1.) Who gives a **** about newbies? This sucks even for the pros and the ones who do it and succeed are in the minority. Ilya I guess, but that's one exception compared to legions of Chinese lifters that squat 2-3x/wk for comparatively high reps, do a **** ton of variants, and look like they even lift.
2.) Yes he does. He says like max out 3x/wk and gradually add days. I did this under supervision of a coach and my results still sucked balls.

I don't know who cares about newbies, I'm just responding to a statement. Sucks? lol, k. Those who "succeed", which is something that can be defined a hundred ways, are in the minority, so I'm not really sure what point you're making. I'm for trying lots of training methods and seeing what fits the specific person. Daily maxes is not for most people, which is oddly one reason it seems so appealing to people.

2) I guess if you want to just ignore the part where he said very explicitly they shouldn't squat heavy until they learn how to deal with big weights, then sure. He says "max out", which does not mean go heavy. It's a concept easily misunderstood because maxing out is something that everyone knows what it means, but not in this context.

I'm with you there.

Successful olympic lifters=people who medal or have very high totals or both. Among this group, not that many do heavy squat singles with ultra high frequency and it doesn't take a genius to realize that this has a high probability of resulting in injury. Plenty only squat 2-3x/wk and use higher rep ranges. Lots of guys not only refrain from maxing on squats frequently, but don't even max on classical lifts that often. Yet despite all the counterexamples of people succeeding with much more measured approaches, broz dogmatically pushes it as THE BEST WAY TO TRAIN IF YOUR FAMILY IS BEING HELD HOSTAGE!12!11 %s are for idiots!

It's not that I'm never around, it's just that my job goes in stops and spurts. But when I see there's a move to make I do go make one, .

Yes, please keep thinking that. In fact, how about we just pretend I've already played my Sun Tzu level ****? That sounds like an easy game to win .

With premove he may be able to do it that fast. I dno, it depends on how much experience you have in those types of situations. Obv it all depends on how fast you are at moving/premoving.

I have no desire to play anything faster than 5/0 for quite a while. I am also now firmly in the "olds" camp when it comes to chess so I'm not sure I will even bother trying bullet even if it seems like a good idea at some point.

I'll play some 5/0 or 10/0 morning or early afternoon eastern US time bros.

Any of you movie nerds seen It's Hard to be a God?

Only time I can remember ever walking out of a movie. 8/8 moviegoers left & I made it probably 20 minutes longer than anyone else in the theatre.
04-02-2015 , 10:03 PM
when was the last time a good movie was even released? I can't believe how often a friend and i will check out a redbox and not find a single thing better than "that might be decent"
04-02-2015 , 10:06 PM
Yeah, saw it last year. Did not leave, but would not watch again. Probably the most uncomfortable 3+ hours of my life, but reasonably glad I stuck it out.
