Really worried about a lot of my friends. I know around 10 people running this year and probably another 10 who were down there at the finish line cheering for support. Only about 5 confirmed safe so far.

In other news, North Korea claims it is targeting Colorado Springs with nukes, so FML.

about the marathon, I've heard from the majority of my family, and it seems like everyone is ok (including two of my wife's cousins who were actually at the race, although thankfully not at the finish line). Terrible situation all around.

I'm at the office about a mile away and I have no idea wtf I'm supposed to be doing. Cell phones aren't working etc. Nothing really going on by me just lots of sirens. Probably gonna avoid taking the subway home though I think it's pretty much closed anyway. Freaking out a bit but everyone else at the office is just working while I'm watching the news so dunno...

Waiting to hear from my sister. She works in Boston (not sure where in relation to the blast) and has taken a large interest in running lately. I know she wasn't going to run the marathon, but may have gone as a spectator.

Mom just called and said my sister was at home with her kids. She had the day off for Patriot's Day (she works for the State) and wasn't in Boston at all today. My cousin who goes to college in Boston is safe too.

Nothing about any suspects being reported on Australian news. Just saw the press conference with the police commissioner and it seemed like they know nothing about anything so far.
