coconut milk confirmed zero calories

Comparing skim milk to unsweetened almond milk is not close. Yeah, sure, skim milk has 50-60 more calories but it also has 8-9g more protein as well. And it's half the price.

unsweetened almond milk also tastes horrendous to me. I like the sweetened stuff but unsweetened is barftastic.

The sweetened almond milk is pretty delicious too at 80 cal per cup.

This imo. In some spots almond or soymilk can be better than actual milk, but not many.

Almond Milk has next to no brotein, only reason I would consider otherwise. I do like the flavor though.

I switched to skim milk only because by volume it has more brotein and less calories so you can drink more and not worry about calories, if thats something you're watching. My logic sometimes makes me wonder too..

A+ Will now only refer to protein as brotein.

I'm not drinking it solely because I detest the way it's advertised; it's not ****ing milk.

And I drink skim.

It doesn't? Up until recently I was eating like 250-275 g of protein a day, which included 5 or so cups of milk. The 450 calories or whatever that I'd get from the milk are not as pleasurable to me as being able to kick back with a small glass of milk and a gourment chocolate chunk cookie at the end of the evening, or perhaps a glass of wine if it's the appropriate day. It just gives me more flexibility when I'm maxing out at 2500 calories, and being able to give myself a little treat at the end of the day every now and again helps with compliance.

Ended up getting a burger at lunch, and even without fries (just had some vinegar based coleslaw) I was stuffed. What is happening to me? Next I won't be ordering the biggest cut of meat at a steakhouse anymore . . .

Pretty much, I'd also have to beat the **** out of myself for drinking either almond or coconut milk because I'd have turned into a total hipster vegan pussy douche, so there's that. I've never tasted either of them, but even if it tastes like a mixture of ambrosia and Christina Hendricks' vagina I probably still couldn't bring myself to add it into the ol diet.

Early morning sessions tend to be my best. If I start a session after about 1500 I tend to feel drained going into it, but that doesn't deter me from getting a session in. Mentally I feel stronger in the morning, but I'm not sure if that is actually true.

sure it is. Mirriam-Websters 2nd definition of milk is

: a liquid resembling milk in appearance: as
a : the latex of a plant
b : the juice of a coconut composed of liquid endosperm
c : the contents of an unripe kernel of grain

Bros, I know it's super beta to talk about anything but lifting here, but I just put the finishing touches on my Master's thesis and sent it to my major professor. Already dreaming about owning the defense and starting my PhD program in the fall. Might have to celebrate with a few squats.

You can drink almond milk to support my family then. I come from almond growers. My uncle is the one in the middle:

Congrats on Masters'.

Why indenture yourself another half decade for the PhD? Do you hate having money?
04-11-2013 , 01:28 PM
yeah man, PhD is bad news. get real jerb imo
04-11-2013 , 01:30 PM
wtf you want with a job? Or a PhD? Haven't you been freelance editing, or am I thinking of someone else?

Is your dream job to be an associate professor at a state college somewhere banging masters students and working half the year? If so, carry on.
04-11-2013 , 01:30 PM
Already have real jerb bros. Getting degrees because I want the education.
04-11-2013 , 01:32 PM
Weirdly, I could see myself going for a PhD if I won the lottery or something but not if I have to put food on my family.

You are thinking of me. Also want the degree in case I want to teach at the graduate level someday. I enjoy teaching, but it's not my dream job.
