Quick update...we had the 30 day weigh-in for our biggest loser contest at work Saturday. I weighed in May 25th at 270.2 wearing my work clothes minus the belt and shoes. The scale at work seems to be a couple pounds heavier than mine. We could weigh-in anytime Saturday so I went running when I woke up, showered then went to work around 11 am to weigh-in. I came in at 257.6 for a 12.6 lb loss and -4.67% body weight. I'll find out the results when I go back to work Wednesday but I'd be shocked if I didn't win. There's a 60 day weigh-in July 22nd. Top 2 get paid based on % of body weight lost.

Thanks Ron! I just got around to reading your marathon TR, awesome job! Seems like if 1-2 little things had gone your way you could've hit your goal. Any plans on updating your thread? I know you're still running regularly.

Cool, thank you! 70 miles a week sounds kinda unpleasant but I don't think 55 will be enough.

Will probably start training in early August for an October Marathon and then take a couple of weeks off before getting ready for Houston.

Am probably not planning on regularly updating the thread any more but I'll do my best to do an update on what I've been up to the last few months (mainly trying to remember how to run up hills!).

Put together my race schedule for the fall/winter and had to make a few changes. There's not gonna be a full marathon in Ocala in January like there has been in the past. So I've decided to try and get ready for the Jacksonville Marathon December 16th. I'll start the Pfitzinger 18/55 plan again August 14th. Here's the race schedule I'd like to do:

I've been going really hard the last 6 weeks so I'm gonna take it a little easy and do two recovery weeks before starting the marathon program. I'm really happy with the progress I've made since getting back at it in April.

I like reading your updates. I was curious about the recent seeming uptick; now that you say you're going to do/try the 18/55 it makes sense that you'd want that strong baseline MPW before starting. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm anxious to get back to the marathon program, although I suspect that excitement will temper after a few 40+ mile weeks lol.

Week 1/18
31 miles

Off to a good start doing the Pfitzinger 18/55 plan again. Did my first tempo run in months on Wednesday and it went well. Started with a 2 mile warm up then the 4 fast miles were 10:03, 10:20, 9:58 & 10:08.

The humidity here has been pretty brutal so I did cut my last 3 runs a little short but still completed 31/33 miles the plan called for. I finished the week with an 11.5 mile long run Monday, my longest run since the marathon. I'm so ready for cooler weather but it's probably gonna be another 3-4 weeks before that happens.
