Tough day - didnt eat enough prior to the gym and everything was really heavy. Left quad is nagging like a *****, rolled it out with a barbell and it felt a little better. Going to end the day at 2193 cals, 184g protein, weighed in at 83.3kg again this morning so feeling more confident I'll get there on the day.

I'm just the master of hindsight after weighing in at 117,1 last meet, making the shirt way too loose.

We have a kid who walks around at 96-97 in training who cuts to 93 for the meets, mostly water cut.

But do what you are comfortable doing. Maybe when you have some more meets under your belt you will feel better about cutting it close :-)

And gratz on the baby, better start getting a home gym ;-)

Tough day on squats - quad is bugging me and making me hesitant on the descent. Going to see witch doctor about it tomorrow, and will start popping ibuprofens i think. Bench felt solid though, despite the pain. Nice little PR triple.

Solid +2.5kg on deadlift, though it was probably closer to a 8.5 than an 8. Nice PR backoff triple though. Knee not bothersome for deadlift, but more annoying immediately on ending a bench set. Otherwise, bench was aight.

Saw the physio, she thinks its probably some tendinosis around the knee with a potential for it being a back injury referring to the thigh. She suggested lots of quad stretches given how tight they are anyway (she was really not impressed) along with a couple of hip/low back exercises. Said getting through the comp was priority so managing it for now is only option, with rest and then working on the underlying imbalances as the long term treatment. I'm tempted to miss pause squats on thursday or just go light and see how it feels, openers next monday the marker.

Another alright session, quad a bit tender but got through it all ok. Weighed 82.7kg yesterday and 83.0kg today, expect it to be higher tomorrow because of donuts today, but its looking like its going to be ok. Annoying with a midday weigh in though.

I worked harder than I would have without donuts, though.

As always, will see how it goes on the day. I don't have any major competition but locking in a win still important, then >400 Wilks, then a big pull. Happy to dial the other two back to get there.

What do you think the probabilities of hitting each/all of the 3rd attempts are in the meet? Just kinda wondering what # GTO looks like, although one would prob want to +/- variance depending on their competition.

(Feel free to ignore if you think it's gonna jinx you).

Fifty-fifty imo.

None of them feel like big reaches. None of the thirds are hail Mary's, they're all well within e1rm. Squat will depend on how my knee feels. 140 should be there but always risk of error for bench. Deadlift again feels like I should definitely have it, but fatigue and technical error are possibilities. Will be a small flight so shorter rest between attempts so that's a factor too.

GTO looks like going 9/9 with nothing left in the tank on each third attempt. Dropping them down is absolutely fine if that's what is needed on the day. Would be happy to go into third pull with gold locked in and yolo a 260 attempt also.
