The good news: I'm on vacation, brought my videos, bands and pull up bar.

The bad news: can't find a door opening trim that's nailed properly to hold the pull up bar

No pull ups one week.

Probably not gonna log foods either. I'm gonna eat responsibly yet enjoy some treats this week.

I think I'm going to re-order the days of the week that I do my workouts this week. If I put stuff that doesn't involve pull ups on my days that I'm on vacation, I can get the pull up work in when I get home.

The other alternative would just be to substitute straight cardio oriented stuff in every day this week. But what fun would that be?

Went out and did some minor shopping this morning with the father in-law. Came back to the cabin, got the brisket started on the smoker, and then did my Kenpo.

Was going to do it outside, but it started to rain, and kept raining all day. We had planned today as a rest/relax day so no biggie. It let up for a few minutes, so the father in-law, my son (3 year old) and me went for a walk to take a look at house for sale. Never fails, ended up hiking the last .5 mile home up the mountain in a full blown rain storm lol.

First full blown skip today. Still time to get it in if want to, but opted for a 2.5 mile hike through the mountains with the Mrs. Instead.

I've ate healthy, but like an absolute hog this week, crushing any meat I cook in large quantities. Only unhealthy stuff I can think of is two thin mint cookies, a chocolate covered oreo, and the biscuit in my strawberry shortcake dessert.

Still I feel like I'm losing my cut a little, probably just bloated from eating so much.

Not sure if I'm going to redo this week or just move on.

Deep fried Oreos tonight. ****ing incredible. Walked around Gatlinburg with the Mrs. Was really nice to be on the small size of the population.

Keep up the good work.

Home from vacation. Missed both my Wed/Thurs videos.

Today was Legs and Back with Ab Ripper X

Breakfast: 140 calories 2 eggs
Snack: 200 calories protein bar
Lunch: 400 calories soup
Dinner: 900 calories Taco Bell

Ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much on vacation. Overall had a wonderful time with the Mrs., kidlets, and my in-laws in Gatlinburg. Just calling it a mini-cheat week/bulk. Not the end of the world, just have to remember not to do it every week.

Post workout weight fully dressed 164.8
Weight gained the past 1.5 weeks 1.2 pounds?

Some of it is water retention (tons of salty things in the last week, can feel/see the bloat in the mid-section) some of it is the accumulation of too much sweet/sugary stuff. Had my first 20oz Coke in ages yesterday while driving home. Also ate a Butterfinger covered Caramel Apple last night. But man was it great to have.

Some of it is just pure/simple piss poor American over-eating. We ate out quite a few meals, and I'm one of those guys that when I eat out, I wipe that **** out if I'm paying for it. Looking at some of the lunches I ate out, plus the dinners that we prepared at the rental house, it's a miracle I didn't put on 3-5 pounds. Walking around Gatlinburg with the Mrs., it became clear that we, as skinnyfats, were the exception, not the norm. The vast majority of the tourist population started at vastly over-weight, and ranged all the way up to the full blown obese level. Just an observation that never really clicks until you take some steps towards level the overweight group I guess.

Sick progress for only ~2months, keep it up man. Tho gotta say that Butterfinger covered caramel apple sounds amazing. I have to try that eventually. Some things are almost worth being a fat ass for. Almost.

The Caramel Apple was incredible. Had one final fat kid vacation moment tonight as the Mrs. and I killed the last one (this one with Heath Bar on it). Freaking dynamite dude. Dynamite.

I'd like to do the caloric breakdown on one. It appears to be a Granny Smith Apple, covered with a thin layer of Caramel and then rolled in candy toppings (think Dairy Queen blizzard stuff). 80 calories on the Apple itself, if I could figure out how to get the Caramel and a titch of candy involved for another 270ish calories, I think it would/could be a great dessert considering that when I'm rolling, I have routine days that come in 1500 cal with no dessert. I know I'm better off drinking a protein shake to try to get up to 2000 calories, but still, you gotta have those days where you eat some junk to get there.

Kenpo X done. 3 weeks to go.

Canoe still isn't here, starting to get pissed. Today was a little chilly, but still a great day to be on the river. My phone blew up with guys wanting to go paddle, but alas my C2 is stuck in NY.

Agree. Can't be perfect all the time, but keeping in mind the big picture and finding good 'value' in amazing tasting foods you wanna cheat with is huge.

Totally. I've actually lost more exactly what I wanted, weight wise. Now it's just a matter of trying to find my maintenance number, while losing fat and gaining muscle.

Week 11 start Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X done.

Crushed it tonight. Just straight up crushed it.

Breakfast: 140 calories 2 eggs
Snack: 50 calories string cheese
Lunch: 250 calories Tuna Wrap
Snack: 200 calories Protein Bar
Snack: 350 calories protein shake
Dinner: ??? Chicken Breast with a small side of rice and some peas
Snack: ??? not sure yet

Really need to build in more calories, just not sure quite how to do it at this point. Called to check on the canoe today, now it's looking like next week. The guy is also supposed to deliver a brand new Savage River Pro boat to my area, and wants to run them all at the same time.

Probably gonna hit the river this weekend with the Kayaks though so that should be fun.

Wednesday was shoulders and arms, Ab ripper X

Nothing special food wise

Thursday was supposed to be Yoga, skipped it and substituted in a session on the river kayaking. First time I've ever been on the river with snow still in the woods, pretty good time, but I'm not gonna lie and say that I wasn't scared to death of drowning. The river is ultra high and crazy fast right now from all the snow melt off. My buddy went in just long johns, t-shirt and jeans. I was out there in long johns, farmer john wetsuit, sweat shirt, and life jacket lol.

Went in to Wal Greens afterwords for a Gatorade, still in the farmer john. Some punk checking out says to me "Nice pants" with a **** eating grin as I'm walking by (in his defense my farmer john is black and purple). So I reached over, pants'ed him, and told him to buy a ****ing belt.

Funny to me at the time, probably not the right response lol.

ATGATT for sure this time of year for me.

July in the upper river when the water levels are down and you can wade the whole thing, no problem. I normally don't bother even when I'm deep water paddling on the inland lakes up here.

My workout is getting nuked today, or a super late start. Have a serious buyer for my old Explorer, but they have to try to hit an ATM from their bank (40 minutes away) in order to try to withdraw enough money. I kinda think they are SOL until tomorrow, but they seem convinced that PNC will let them withdraw that much money even if they can't at one of the local ATM's.

Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X DONE

**** sticks of course couldn't get the money out, so we have to meet tomorrow, no big deal, but it pushed my start way back in the day.

163.4 fully clothed post workout weight
1.2 pounds down from the previous friday.

AND I crushed/drank 1.2 pounds during the workout tonight. Yep, you read that right, I started the workout at 162.2 and drank so much water that I gained weight working out. Not sure why, but the last couple of days between the Protein Shakes and the Protein Bars, I've been having some pretty bad artificial sweetener aftertastes going on, and just pound water like crazy as a result trying to get rid of the taste.

Anyhow, fingers crossed bro's on selling my old POS Explorer tomorrow. We don't really need it, wife has her Subaru, I've got my diesel, plus I drive my work truck and use it to stop and get anything little that I need while I'm out and about. If I can pull off selling it, probably gonna buy the Mrs. and the daughter Kayaks for this summer.

Haven't been lost to the Nomzies. Starting puking Friday night and was sick throughout the day Saturday. Missed Kenpo as a result and weighed in waaaaaaaaaaaaaay low. Have been trying to eat and re-hydrate as much as possible as a result.

Missed my video tonight because I had to make a 5 hour round trip after work to meet the shipping company on my canoe. I guess I technically didn't have to make the trip, but they knocked a more than fair amount off the final bill, so I'll take it.

Finally get the damn thing home, and right now it's 24 degrees outside with an inch of snow on the ground.

WTF!?!!?!?!?!?!?

24 and snows sounds lovely.

Summer is way too overrated, way too hot.
Especially if your body temperature is silly low like mine is.

Sucks for kayaking, though.
Hope you get well soon and back on the bandwagon in full force.

I'm a pretty big winter fan, but not in the spring. In the spring, I really want Spring.

5 pounds lost over night. I've put most of it back on and my cut has started to comeback, but with the violent puking I washed away and looked like a ghost.

Plyo done

Nothing spectacular or special diet wise. I'm back to the same exact routine with tuna wraps.

Pretty ****ing pissy today though. Lit in to my canoeing partner pretty damn hard throughout the course of the day. How do you motivate a guy that doesn't respond positively to anything? When people tell me I can't do something, I get out there and prove them wrong. When people support me (including my 2+2 bros), I work even harder because I don't want to let them down.

Nothing seems to work for this ****er. People tell him no way, can't be done, you're too old, too out of shape, etc. His ****ing Mom has even started in on it, all it does is make him a whiny bitch and want to quit. On the other hand, if you coddle the bastard like a little 3 year old all he does is go "yeah, i'm working on it, I kinda had a bad day, but it wasn't that bad" and giggle...

I'm really starting to regret letting him buy the paddles. I'm about ready to just drive over to his place with a stack of hundo's and tell him he's out. We are 103 days from the toughest canoe race in North America. Now is not the ****ing time for half assed efforts.

I would in and train for something like that. There don't appear to be any great whites in those waters so it's already easier than my normal 16 hour days on the water.

But alas, I'll be in Hawaii at that time, chasing big fishies on the Kona coast. Stay safe w
