My points make perfect sense...prolly not for you and your bodybuilding types, but for me and people who don't want to add muscle to their bodies - then if they follow my examples they will indeed lose and maintain a good body size and be fit as well.
From reading op's initial post, there was no hint that he wanted to build muscle or lift weights (or maybe I misunderstood his post, if I did - well ...sorry)- reason I posted what I did, which is working for me and many others like ME. If he wants to try it, then he should have that option - not that you have to say YOUR way (from the fitness program you're following) is best and say that everyone else's suggestions are wrong.
As for trolling...meh, if that's what you think I'm doing since you can't seem to locate the post where I ...(quoted by you, btw) "argued that 5 meals a day was the only way to go and eating twice a day was stupid and made you fat." (since I NEVER said that!)... then so be it, that's your erm ...excuse *cough* ....opinion.
You seem to be head strung on following that leangains.com...guy's program, if it works for you then kudos to you and gl. Doesn't mean it will work for everyone and to be honest, I don't ever want to look like that! yuck...It disgusts me, you remove all the femininity from a woman's body, in my opinion, when they get those kinda muscles. That woman they show in that blog (what was her name Carrie?)...she honestly looked better before she followed that program and added muscles to her body.
Anyway, get ready for old age when you stop weight lifting and that muscle turns immediately to blubber....enjoy it while you can tho!
Just my thoughts on this subject, not trolling....

It's not a big deal, just set calorie/protein goals and that's that.

It's fine if someone eats 234234234 meals a day (obv I'm biased b/c I eat a bunch of meals a day) but...it's also worthwhile to know that if you eat 1 meal or 2 meals or w/e, that's fine too. This "discussion" is not on a central point to helping the OP with his actual goals!

these threads always devolve down, especially from the regs positing science to back up their claims. leave science in the lab, where all conditions for all people can be studied and controlled.
Real life is NOT in a cubicle, or an internet chat box. Because whether its 1 meal a day, or 20, the act of overeating is mental, not physical. And all your science can't counter that. To continue to push is is the definition of trolling.

So that's where ive been going wrong in trying to put on weight, I need to stop physically over eating and instead use my mental powers to over eat.
So much fail. Facepalm at leaving science in the lab.

indeed, so much fail when you can't comprehend the post.
eta: especially from someone who quotes the faq. it has a concept of everything works, some things work better, and nothing works for ever. yet you can't even comprehend that. typical.

Was wrong how I termed this...maybe I should have taken the time to explain it better (thought most would understand what I meant, guess not)
- if you stop weight lifting while still eating the same large meals/calorie intake that you've been programmed to eat while you've been on this lean n' mean fit bodybuilding program, then what happens is (to the best of my knowledge) your muscles will shrink - hence the fat will be the pronounced factor that shines through. Basically you will have more fat than muscle - once you stop lifting weights and eating the same **** you been eating while weight lifting.
Was that better explained - Aidan?

If your requirements are 3000 calories and at least 200 grams of protein, please explain how having two meals that are 1500 calories each and at least 100 grams of protein is unsustainable. Hint: it's not. Plenty of people do it.
It is not "WORSE ADVICE", it is simple another way of achieving the same thing. It is functionally equivalent to eating 6 meals of 500 calories. The only thing that matters is a)reaching macro nutrient goals and b)compliance.
As for your other complete backtrack, anyone who has any experience at putting on decent muscle mass, dieting efficiently etc already knows that to be true. Fortunately, they are intelligent enough to be able to alter their caloric intake appropriately with their activity level. And you don't have to stop lifting as you age, there are plenty of strong guys at my gym that are 50+.
A+ hoscience reference, JK

Your contention was that all my science could not prove that overeating was physical and not mental.
Behold the wonders of science: http://www.ajcn.org/content/79/5/881.short

In summary, significant and suggestive linkages found on 1p12.2, 12q14.1, and 20q13.13 support the hypothesis that genes
are likely involved in determining some of the human variation in dietary energy and macronutrient intakes. Most linkages pertained to the intake of total energy rather than to that of specific macronutrients. Dietary intakes represent complex phenotypes that vary greatly among subjects because of local customs, religious beliefs, ethnicity, regional food supply, and the like but that appear to be partly influenced by genetic factors as well.

I just chose to laugh at you initially, plus it is pretty irrelevant to the OP. Back to politards, son
