Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Wednesday 11 January 2011

squat
8x20
6x60
3x100
3x120
3x3x140 (belt)

press
5x40
3x50
1x55
3x5x57.5

pullup
4x7
1x6
2x5

Not bad considering I felt like sh*t. loljetlagaments. Hip flexors super tight. wotatwist.

Wow. Using a belt makes squatting so much easier.

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Friday 13 January 2012

deadlift
5x60
3x100
1x140 (belt)
2x140 (belt/straps)
1x160 (belt/straps)
1x170 (belt/straps)
1x180 (belt/straps) (wr!)

bench
5x20
5x60
3x80
1x90
1x95
1x100

Well, first rugby session last night and first interference with lifting today... Goddamnit I don't know what I did... but the bottom of my bicept (near where it meats the inside of my elbow) really f*cking hurts. Hurts heaps at the bottom of bench and it also results in a really weak grip. When I try and make a fist it feels really weak like when you first wake up in the morning.

I *think* I did it by having my arm pushed back while at full stretch. Hurts a bit on the outside of my arm as well, just below the elbow.

So whatever, I'll just set deadlift (wr!)s 3 days after getting off a long haul flight while injured after not deadlifting for a month.

Not dl'ing for a month is probably an optimal way to set a PR provided you're still squatting. Maybe not the other aspects though.

ty!

Yeah, I've seen some people experience similar with deadlift ( think kidcolin(?) found the same... or was that squats?).

ftr, in my 3-4 weeks "off", I squatted once to twice per week at low volume (2-3 sets of 3-5) at fairly high intensity (85-95% 1RM). No other lower body work (apart from lots of walking around ).

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Monday 16 January 2012

squat
6x20
5x60
3x100
3x120
1x130
3x5x140

press
5x20
3x40
1x50
3x5x60

chinup
3x6

I would like to thank Soulman. Your medicore press made me realise how pathetic mine really was and gave me the rage to grind out the last rep. I couldn't have got it without you.

Probably haven't been many times in my life I have squatted 3x5x140. I was f*cked after this. Sat down for a good while before doing press.

Elbow still hurt a bit, so cut the chins off early. Plus I was mega f*cked.

Good session though.

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Wednesday 18 January 2012

deadlift
5x60
3x100
3x120
1x140
1x160 (straps/belt)
1x170 (straps/belt)
1x180 (straps/belt)
Fx190 (straps/belt)
5x160

Arm/elbow started hurting so I stoped. In a dramatic twist my other arm/elbow also started hurting in the same manner (but not as much). What the f*ck. So f*cking pissed.

mine was with squats and DLs, but more so the squat. But I'm glad you mentioned this. You're providing important data to my beach peaking hypothesis.

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Friday 20 January 2012

squat
5x60
3x10
3x120
1x130
5,3,5 x142.5 (belt)

2nd set killed me... Then one of my friends was giving me sh*t for missing my 190 deadlift on Wednesday, so I though "f*ck you" and made sure I got all five on my last set.

Arm started hurting, so did no upper body sh*t. fml.

Also, I'm thinking about taking a shot at a 455kg (1001lb) total next week...

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

Monday 23 January 2012

squat
5x60
5x100
3x120
1x135 (belt)
3x3x145 (belt)

press
5x40
3x50
1x55
3x3x62.5

Elbow(s)/arm still f*cking hurt. fml... Although I would say the pain this week is more like 8 out of 10 rather than 9 and seems to subside more quickly.

Squat form is feeling really f*cking good atm.

Won't try 1000lb total this week. Will wait for elbows.

Re: 00Snitch, meet Jim Wendler (5/3/1 log)

It gets worse after lots of things but nothing specific.

Hurt after squatting.

Hurt after pressing.

Hurt after a short time batting in cricket (lolstraya).

Last week it hurt after deadlifting.

Nothing hurts it more or less, when it hurts, it hurts the same.

I don't think it's tooo bad because it doesn't hurt in normal day-to-day stuff through any range of motion. Even stuff like say carrying a carton of beer under one arm or reaching out to pick stuff up is fine.
