I just moved to Stuttgart from the US. I will be here for some time. I am extremely excited about all the travel that my wife and kids and I will get to experience. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

With regards to poker, I'm obviously a total fish in Germany. If someone can respond with some geographically appropriate tips I'd greatly appreciate it. My wife and I have played 5/5-T/20 in the states for about 10 years, and we're hoping to find some games in the area.

There is a local casino that offers cash game poker, Spielbank Stuttgart, but I have no clue what kind of stakes they have. Prolly lower than you would like to play.

Within driving distance is Spielbank Baden-Baden. They sometimes have 5/10 or higher games going, but I would def. call in advance and ask. A couple years ago that game was going most evenings of the week, but I heard it has died down.

Other than that, if you want to travel, you can go on weekend trips to lots of European cities that have casinos. Or take the plane/train/car to Berlin or Hamburg where you can play poker and do everything else tourists like to do.

Stuttgart and its periphery is a very nice place to live, but not for playing poker.
