I mean connie has the same exact style, he got it from Gunnar even. Gunnar doesn't got the range managment or huge reach to really pull it off though. Also his counter striking isn't great.

Gunnar said he was seeing double the rest of the fight.

Why doesn't the UFC use the gloves with the full hand guards on top of the fingers like the orgs in Japan use again?

Looks like there were three eye pokes:

RT,

Same reason they still have ****ty nu-metal for the opening montage.

I've heard it makes grappling significantly more difficult.

So the over under on how many PPV buys Conor vs Floyd will do is 4.99 million. Man that's so nuts that one of the most lopsided awful fights ever is going to destroy records lol.
07-19-2017 , 03:54 PM
people who buy that are ****ing stupid

Sooner than I predicted:

I figured he'd come back for UFC 250 or 300.

Its not even fun in the way that the original Dream Team matches were lopsided and people get to see the game played at the highest level, this is still gonna be boring as **** even with the enormous discrepancy!

Dream team didn't get punched across the jaw. womp womp dead dreams....

UFC 213 sells 130,000 buys.

Boxing and MMA in a race to see which is more dead.
07-20-2017 , 10:23 AM
How many buys were you expecting that card to do? Let's see what 214 does
07-20-2017 , 11:37 AM
To be fair, it did have its main event and one of the best fights (Lawler, Cerrone) cancelled.
07-20-2017 , 12:30 PM
wes,

The UFC has averaged 240k PPV buys this year. Without Rousey, Conor, GSP or Lesnar, they appear to not be able to sell. Jones isn't even much of a draw outside his beef with Cormier. I believe he averages around 400k if you exclude his first fight with DC.

We witnessed the poker boom. Everyone is good now. Games suck.

They did make hay while the sun was shining tho.

if the ufc paid fighters a reasonable cut of the revenue a'la other professional sports, then we'd see more new talent because athletically gifted people wouldn't view training mma as a complete waste of time

instead we get washed up handeggers like matt mitrione, olympic wrestlers that nobody has ever heard of, wwe stars, etc

these dudes would benefit so much from collective bargaining/unionization
07-20-2017 , 11:30 PM
rep,

Definitely. A fighters union is a short term profit hit for the UFC, but I think it secures the longevity of the sport and will eventually take the sport to the next level, which ultimately means more money for the UFC. It's the correct long-game move.

I am working on the Contender Series on Fight Pass. There are two streams. One with a conventional announcing crew and the Snoopcast.

Throughout the night they are drinking gin and juice and Snoop is blazing. In the real feed we never cut to them full screen except for an introduction.

Weidman just can't catch a break (lately).
07-22-2017 , 04:37 PM
Weidman wins the first two rounds like 80% imo. After that it's hard to say, his cardio always seems to be his downfall.
07-22-2017 , 04:44 PM
Hard for me to believe Gastelum is going to finish Weidman. Gastelum is really going to need to outbox Weidman early in the fight and not get taken down much.

Then again I always think Gastelum is going to lose and he always wins.
07-22-2017 , 05:10 PM
He could certainly win the last 3 rounds via cardio.
