Sometimes folks to prompt a bet to see if you has the courage of your convictions, with no intentions of following through. Bob Stupack tested me with a bet the first time we met. Earned a bit of respect when I snap called.

Yeah I've done that (for way less). Friends > money and if you know it might irk them it's not worth it. Plus if you can still talk **** to them being wrong, all the better.

Telling the world about it on the podcast makes it way less cool, such is the Schaub way.

Betting 100k was stupid

cwar, eddy:

He's just setting Chael up to freeroll him on a 1M bet next.

It's a monumentally stupid bet by Chael (especially considering that he's VERY familiar with Floyd's fighting style, and McGregor's likely gameplan of trying to swarm early), but 100k is probably also not trivial money to Schaub.

Now that Chael has had his opportunity to tell it though, the bet was that McGregor wouldn't win rounds, and because 2 of the judges only gave him 1 (even though he almost certainly won more), they couldn't agree so just decided to call it a push.

If I'm in podcasting / commentating business for MMA, I'd take Chael Sonnen owing me a favor for lost EV.

They are both idiots, but Chael wouldn't lie or cheat.

I'm not sure anybody is implying this?

DW,

I just heard Chael say that based on the judges' cards they agreed Chael won the bet, but Chael refused to take it because the judging was so terrible and Conor clearly won more than one round.

Chael is a supremely mediocre fighter and like 45 seconds away from be a MW and LHW champ.

Chael GOAT

Yah, he's not very good, and even he beat current MW champ Bisping!

Wow the only fight I care about on the next ppv is Magny - Dos Anjos

They gave up on DJ long ago and do almost no promotion at all and put him and bad cards.
09-01-2017 , 02:32 AM
Dj vs TJ would have been cool. I feel dj ****ed up not doing it.
09-01-2017 , 01:07 PM
Well, except for that whole part about how there's a decent chance he'd lose to him.

This is the card that lost JDS v Ngannou? Would've been alright with that.

The UFC is so out whack right now tho. The ownership, fighters and match makers all have different agendas. Sponsorship $ is non-existent, so managers get involved and decisions get made purely on $ and cents which is inefficient as well. Well it wouldn't be if the pay system wasn't so messed up to begin with (i.e. toil for years to maybe bink a lotto fight).

That's how you get cards like this where very little effort goes into saving the card and Dana is openly trashing the headliner and mocking his champion's inability to draw. But it's still $59.99, just pls don't stream it.
