I was living in Japan until about this time last year and one of my only true regrets was not going to the Sapporo snow festival or skiing up north while there. (I was living in Okinawa) Totally jealous, mouthtoilet.

Now I'm living in Canmore and there were several bluebird days in a row at Sunshine so finally went out for the first time this season yesterday to take advantage. Busy as helllllll in the parking lots but worth it once I got up. It's so big it's pretty much impossible to be tripping over people except in the lodges or poorly managed lift lines.

15 powder days in a row. super heavy snowfalls expected the next couple of days.
i think 50 powder days this season might be possible.

Extending my trip another week. Good to get a solid month in early in the season but will def have to go back on the 12th as am giving a presentation on the 14th. Taking a day off today and catching up on some studying. Also really need to get around to setting up my .fr account but given that its been 3 years or so and i still haven't done it i'm not confident it will be done soon...

Ordered a Burton Nug 146 and got the Malavita EST's at home waiting. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow in time for 3 days in the Swiss Alps. Should be fun !

If anyone wants to join me and 2 other poker players at a 3 bedroom ski in/ski out place to Snowbird, UT (shuttle to Alta, and also might go to Solitude or Brighton) sometime between Jan 27 to Feb 2. Have had 2 really successful trips to Breckenridge and Whistler in the past 2 years with poker players. This condo is full for earlier parts of the trip but it would be great to have another person or two for the last 6 days. PM me and I'll give you some details.

Hey mouth I was talking to my buddy who used to live in Japan about going there for a week or two and he said I'd have trouble, not knowing any Japanese.
I remember you mentioning some places are far more tourist-friendly than others, but do you think it would be that big of an ordeal to get situated for a relatively short stint there?

Anyone got experience with the hike-to terrain in Telluride? Going to be spending a few weeks there later this month into mid Feb. Looks like there s a few different bowls you can drop into. Just wondering if the 2hr hike is any better than the 30 minute ones.

Also, please keep posting moar vids, toilet. Watching you stomp through that waist deep **** is getting me so damn pumped for the few short weeks of riding Ill be able to squeeze in this season.

you will 100% have no issues in niseko. its simply not japan. its basically australia which kinda sux if you dont like aussies like me. like just now, im in the basement of my lodge grinding and theres about 20 aussies hanging out drinking. check out owashi lodge if this sounds like your thing. you will easily met tons of people to ride/hang out with.

this is a place where even the most uncultured bogans come so just do it.

if you're more adventurous head to hakuba or nozawa onsen. you still wont have any issues at those places but theyre definitely not catered 100% to foreigners like niseko.

the only 2 resorts ive been to where ive been the only foreigner are sapporo teine and kokusai.

another 24cm last night. went to a little resort called niseko moiwa. absolutely awesome. dirt cheap, bought 2x$5 worth of tickets (could get away with a one $5 ticket) and rode all day since they dont check. absolutely noone on the hill, fresh lines all day.

19th pday in a row.

aussie bogans getting into fights at my lodge last night. typical aussie behaviour really.
the only issue i have with this area really.

Very nice day of boarding at Stratton...conditions were good & not too crowded. My legs are DONE! Hopefully they get another dumping of snow for next weekend.

We're just having endless bluebird days over here in France, could really do with some more snow but can't complain about the weather I guess.

Thanks.

This was about 3 weeks ago but an awesome boulderfield buried in a mountain of snow that made for a playground of powder, jumps and drops

And the moonset I wake up to every morning
