The road going over the hill turned out to be one where every night, the whores would line the street, and cars would pull up, the whores get in, do their thing, and then the cars drive off. So each morning, the entire street/sidewalk was covered with hundreds of used condoms.
After making the trip the first day, we decided it wasn't worth risking our life should we happen to slip and fall on the hill, getting exposed to who knows what in the residue.
No doubt a real ****hole.

Without question, the ****hole of Italy, home to public filth and public displays of human depravity and pure evil unavailable anywhere else in the country.

Reseda, Chatsworth, Northridge, all those Valley hellholes. ALL of the LA-area "sprawl" qualifies, I'll give you that: Lancaster, Palmdale, Adelanto, etc. Can you blame them for the meth? I cannot.
There seem to be some fans of ****ty Massachusetts towns here, so let's add Lowell and Fall River. And Rhode Island.
Lexington, KY, sucks.

Lots of dense yuppies ITT imo. LFS are you ****ing serious? I grew up in Northridge, Calabasas, Porter Ranch, and Encino as a kid and it was far from a hellhole and it's far from one now. You've obviously never traveled the world or throughout the US if you consider that area a ****hole of the world or even L.A. That's just ****ing stupid.

+1 I was born and raised in Fresno. I've traveled to a few different places in my time. If you truly believe fresno, chico, and davis are ****holes Of The World, then you are so sheltered it's hard to know whether to pity or envy you.
Stockton, oakland, and bakersfield can go on the list though.
I once knew a security guard in fresno who graduated from the police academy. Was just hired by Stockton PD and was bragging about "$50/hour + overtime up the ass...ill be making 70k/yr starting out etc."
6 mo later he was back vowing never to be a cop again. Too many shootings, too many rapes, too much violence and he couldn't handle the stress.
With high crime and no redeeming industrial or tourist locations, Stockton def. goes on this list.

+1 To Chico being a cool town. I have family there, and it's not bad. Maybe a bit boring, but it's a good place to raise a family

This is, unfortunately, very true. The homogenization of much of America has been going on for decades.

Re: Sh*tholes of the World Thread
I am amazed this thread is over 200 posts and there has not been one mention of anywhere in Mississippi.
I also wonder if anyone ITT has actually been to the Horn of Africa or North Korea, which both have been mentioned. I mean, obviously they are ****holes, but anyone can boringly just glean common knowledge and post it ITT.
But if that's kosher, I've read some really dreary, desperate, fascinating **** about the interior of Russia.
From personal experience, the Texoma region around the Red River is full of small towns with absolutely no small-town charm. ****hole.
I knew my hometown, Akron, was going to be brought up a lot. Anyone used to bigger cities with more vibrant economies would of course call the whole Rust Belt from Pittsburgh to Detroit to Gary a ****hole. But if I were rich, my primary residence would be back in Akron.

Re: Sh*tholes of the World Thread
Hm, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has to be added I guess, it can be a pretty town and has a nice environment around it, but the city is poor, the people are inbred hicks, 95% of which smoke, it's in the middle of nowhere (Northern Ontario lul) and gets snow 7-8 months of the year. the main attraction in the city is a train that goes through it (without stopping, might i add) and a cemetery.
