AZK,
"Do you wash your suit every time you wear it?" Of course not.
"Dress shirts?" Of course.

try A.P.C Rescues, Imperial Kings, Nudie regular ralfs/straight svens or if you have enough money to spend get some japanese 501 levi repro's like samurais.

sorry i dont know how to make the links look cool
hopefully you live in a city with a good denim store because buying raw denim without trying it on is really difficult, the fit is almost never true to size, some denim stretches much more than others, the cuts are all slightly different, etc.

smell,
"cliffs notes: real men dont wash their pants"
Some quotes from you guys:
"The wear lines are amazing though."
"Raw denim, preferably selvedge, is a newfound hobby of mine."
"superfuture rules. those guys know a ****load about denim"
"some people over on StyleForum who absolutely kill in the "What Are You Wearing Today" threads because their silhouettes are great"
"put them in the freezer for a bit, will remove odors."
"I desperately need to start working on my sport coat wardrobe"
"Jeans that don't fit on your hips are going to look bad because they sag and won't look right in the seat/crotch, etc."
"Fill up your tub with water and wash by hand with Woolite dark."
Let's not get carried away w/ the real men comments. Good things you guys are living in more tolerant times. In my day guys saying crap like that would get their ass kicked just for being such a flaming **** (not that there's anything wrong w/ that, of course!).

Re: raw denim
smell and others,
Whatever, no big deal how much you want to wash. But claiming that your jeans will not be dirty after wearing for the kinds of periods you're talking about is just plain silly assuming that you sweat, shed skin, and go outside like normal humans.

Re: raw denim
I used to be in the same boat. I would wash all my jeans after wearing them once for 8 hours. When I got my first pair of raw denim, I was apprehensive that I would smell bad or get a weird rash or turn into a zombie. I guess it never happened.
Stuff like socks and underwear and gym shirts, I can see them needing constant washing. But heavy jeans that I just walk around in seem to be doing OK. Maybe it's different in the wet climate I live in? When I washed them last in September, I honestly couldn't tell the difference (smellwise, the color difference was great) after they drip dried. Fresh and crispy as always.
edit: i think dirty is really relative to it's negative aspects, in this case, i don't see any

Whew, I almost forgot about how to be a man. Thanks for the lesson and for not being a total douchebag loser about it, Diablo!
Also, you should try showering daily. It helps keeps jeans clean.

Re: raw denim
skunk,
"Also, you should try showering daily. It helps keeps jeans clean."
Are you seriously arguing that your jeans are going to be clean after months of continuous wear? Come on, man, don't be silly. You realize humans sweat and shed skin, right?
Like I said, if that's what you want to do, fine. Some people like the style of real dirty dreads, that's cool too.
But acting like your jeans are not dirty is ridiculous.
Also, if you don't think guys getting into detailed discussions of the wear lines around their crotch is ****ing hilarious, well, I don't really know how to respond to that.

Re: raw denim
I think raw denim might not be your thing. After a few months of wear, it's obviously going to get a bit dirty but it's not bad if you're good about it. This is not like wearing an undershirt for months; I don't know how many other ways to put it than that.
Denim heads get real into it. It's not for everyone. Sorry you're not into it.

Re: raw denim
I had no idea until just now that there were such things as denim heads.

Re: raw denim
skunk,
I like stylish and simple clothing, the more natural the better. So raw denim actually sounds quite good to me. I am just very much not into wearing anything dirty, so I'll probably give this a try but go the route of lapoker and the "unorthodox" guys mentioned on the other forum and wash them regularly.

meh, im not gonna try to defend an obsession with jeans, the real men comment was mildly tongue in cheek. some people spend fortunes of time and money on bespoke suits, shoes, and other business attire. i am able to print money without leaving my apartment so i have no need for a business wardrobe, and instead i spend the time you might having a suit fitted looking for jeans.
i know a few girls who like what i wear though, and they dont seem to mind the smell of my crotch.

raw denim is basically the epitomy of natural and simple clothing. If you check out Dior Homme's 19cms (some of the most sought after and expensive raw denim) or APC (similar styling concept as dior but at a reasonable price point) the thing that may strike you the most is how PLAIN they are. theres no logos, no crazy pocket stitching, nothing.
if you pick up a pair and want to wash em, try to hold off as long as possible before the first wash. wash in cold water with as little agitation as possible and a mild detergent.

Re: raw denim
Diablo, if you do this, go with a super high quality Japanese denim since they're much harder to fade. Washing won't actually do much of the fading, it's mostly friction. Just machine soak it and put it through a rinse/spin cycle.
