Yes. Better, imo, but I'm wondering what the left side of the shot is bringing to the table. My eye naturally goes straight to her eyes and then follow to see what she's looking at. At that point, it gets lost.

I like the use of depth of field (I like how you can make out the blurry form of another person in the background), and I think the composition is good too. I think that in an ideal world, I'd like to see a catch light in the eyes of the subject.

It seems a little soft. I am wondering if this is noise reduction at a high ISO or what.
yes. The middle shot is the original one. What happened is we went to the river in Korea to watch fireworks and this street lamp gave off a gross yellow tint. I thought I set my SLR for "Tungsten Lighting" but there' a chance that I didn't. I can either do that or bring a grey card to fix the white balance issue right?

I completely agree about having light catch her eyes. If iI had white balanced correctly and the light had shifted just a few inches over, the photo may have looked amazing. As is, I'm stuck with mediocrity : (

That's interesting. I'll upload the raws if you think you can crop it. I don't know how to fix that issue = ( I kind of liked how she's looking at her friends w/that look on her face

comments/suggestions appreciated. I believe I sharpened used unsharp mask, altered brightness/contrast, altered saturation/hue using layer masks.

econ,

I'd say architects enjoy buildings.

I really like that building photograph, I like the geometry and angles and stuff.

I'm starting to use picassa to tidy up my photos, the horizon line fixer and the colour adjutments are really easy to use and make the pictures look a lot better imo! Heres one I took the other day that I've touched up.

This building looks like it was designed by Frank Gehry.

Also, Dave-- Very nice tree photo. I'm impressed with the incredibly vivid colors. Was the photo adjusted in Photoshop at all?

Thanks! Yes, main adjustment in photoshop was running 5 different exposures from the RAW and blending them. It was quite a vivid scene beforehand, and I wasn't sure if it could be improved on. However, the original ends up looking really dull compared to my post-processed version.

That's not to say that I even got the original exposure dead on....

Right, it's the IAC headquarters building in New York (review). I'm looking forward to his undulating 75-story apartment building that is under construction downtown.

Here's a picture of the construction site:

a few pictures from today in d.c.

I've been wanting to photograph this house for some time. If the lighting were better at sunset this could have been a winner =\

Tappy, that's a pretty sick picture there. Maybe just a tiny bit over saturated, though. I'd also like to see that in higher rez.
