It's pretty funny that before the loss Conor was very adamant about "nobody trains like I train" and "nobody is working as hard as me", and people were eating it up just because it sounds good(i think I had a rant about it here). Now, after the loss, they've been very clear about "the old ways were a mess, we've redesigned everything" and "we're training a lot less now, we've formalised our process".
Conor definitely doesn't seem as cocksure this time around, it's kind of hard to do his schtick after a loss. Chael used to suffer the same problem.
Damn, he's pissed. His whole game just got turned against him. Reminds me of Aldo.
I was just thinking that Conor's best shot at winning is to suppress his love affair with his straight left, and play a stick and move strategy, using kicks to setup that left rather than force it (basically what they said in the latest Heavy Hands podcast). Now I'm wondering if Conor can keep his cool. Diaz is great at taunting people into playing his game, and I can see Conor getting baited back into chasing the KO like he did in the first fight. Other fighters had wrestling and low-kicks to fall back on, but Conor doesn't really have the latter and certainly doesn't have the former. He's said several times that Nate was "one or two punches" away from getting KO'd, and that he was gonna knock him out in the 2nd or 3rd. I assumed that's just gamesmanship, but if he even believes a fraction of that it could indicate how difficult it will be for him to refrain from participating in a war.

Not really. Chael was even funnier the 2nd time around. Walking around with the fake belt, the story of the nogs feeding the bus a carrot, saying he didn't know brazilians had computers.
Conor is completely lost trash talk wise. He was never clever or witty, and it seems his trash talk was limited to middle grade insults of " midget or skinny fat mexican " which don't really work when you got your butt whipped.
Either rogan made a nice lucky guess about boner pills beeing the stuff that made jones test positive , or UFC thought what a great idea to save him and bribed the **** of everyone.
It s not beein confirmed yet but seems to be the story

Lol at Conor cutting to 168 again. One minute he's the king of bullying little guys who hit like flyweights, the next he is brave David facing the 200lb Goliath walking around underweight.
Damn, Conor is much more skilled in stand-up, but he actually looks shook and historically people haven't done well in immediate rematches when they lost the first fight...
Mike Perry stealing the show at the “official weigh in”.
The UFC needs to come up with something else to do now they have the weigh in earlier in the day. This whole thing where they walk on stage and take off their shirts to stand on a scale for no reason while Rogan yells what they weighed a few hours ago seems bizarre.
even though everything indicates the fight is going to be the same as last time I have a gut feeling conor is going to knock him out in the first couple rds
Ruebusch mentioned in the latest Heavy Hands podcast that Conor's best chance at winning is being able to conquer himself. After the way Nate got to him at the press conference, and him seemingly still being pissed, that comment is beautifully prescient.
I'm so stoked for this **** that I actually managed to fit it into my girlfriends birthday night.
