And will hopefully be boning again when I visit.. It'll be nice to have someone who speaks the language to show me around, introduce me to people and help me find a place.

I spent a couple days in Villa Gesell which is nice and laid back. From what I was told when I was in BsAs, Mar del Plata is a huge cluster**** and there are so many high raises on the beach that they block the sun for the sunbathers.

The beaches in general are blah as you'll need to go to Uruguay for nice beaches. Again, from what I'm told. And the beach at Villa Gesell was not like the movies or anything.

Re: Moving to Buenos Aires discussion

So for this week's segment of 2p2BADC we will try LA Celeste in Palermo Hollywood. I figure all the new people haven't gotten sick of parrilla yet. As always, Tuesday at 9:00.

It allways depends in what you are looking for your trip. Don't expect to find caribean beaches or anything paradisiac.
Mar del plata is a very big city and its full of movment all year long. You'll find lots of bars and discos, vgood girls, cheap services (compared to bs as assuming you are going out of season) some good restaurants and hotels. Beach is okay for argentinean standars but if you are looking for nicer beaches you`ll be better taking some days in punta del este.. but keep in mind that punta del este is a small town out of season.
If you just want to relax with your girlfriend / friends in a nice resort and don`t care a lot about spending some extra bucks, i`ll go for punta del este.
If you want to go to a big city with nightlife, and a lot cheaper, i`ll go to mar del plata.
(always assuming off season!)

Luis.

Imakefrush pointed out that this place is in Palermo Hollywood, but make sure you go to the new location in Hollywood (Bonpland 1944) rather than the old location, which is still listed on their website on the "donde estamos" part.

Re: Moving to Buenos Aires discussion

I just started playing in a football game every Tuesday that ends at 9 PM. I'll give someone a call when I'm showered up and ready. I'll try to get in.

I'm the +1 btw. Hey chairman, who's behind the football game? I would love to find a regular game over here if possible

Re: Moving to Buenos Aires discussion

There's a regular Monday night expat game at Ocampo. Level of play isn't that high; not sure if you're interested. Can discuss tonight.
