It'd be hilarious if he did win. Probably get a title shot lol. Would be fun of Cub puts a brutal display on him though and starts trashing talking Conor about destroying his boy.

Someone posted some Maia stats, about him never winning a fight against anyone with 70% TDD+, and Masvidals is 79%. Then again Masvidal fought mostly at LW against non wrestlers. Definitely wouldn't surprise me if he won though, kinda rooting for it. Masvidals distance control is really good too so Maia will be shooting from way out most likely.
Bolded is why I think the fight comes down to Maia's single leg or rather Masvidals defence of it. Everything for Maia works off it and I doubt Maia can double leg Masvidal for the reasons stated above. The only other way to the ground is the clinch and while Masvidal is very good in it he should use his athleticism and stay away. At range, of course is where Masvidal will win the fight but his defence and tactics will have to be on point against Maia to let him fight there.

So gross Bisping is allowed to continue to duck every MW contender.

What happens if GSP wins? No way he fights Romero or Jacare lol, so he just vacates the title? JK winner probably faces Anderson lol.

What a farce.

GSP wins, vacates 185 and moves to 170 again where he faces Conor for the interim.

Bisping is a favorite right? Like at least -200ish? GSP had already looked like he lost several steps before retiring, couldn't really even beat Hendricks. Bisping is way bigger and has really good TDD. Also GSP has had another major knee surgery while retired on top of not having fought for 3 years.
03-01-2017 , 01:52 PM
Also why do they have Maia taking another fight if they were already planning on this? The Masvidal fight does nothing to further Maia hype. And they surely can't plan on giving it to Masvidal if he wins. Maybe they plan on giving the WW shot to Nick or Conor?

Bisbing is about to go on a stretch of Beatin' on the Classics.

First GSP, then Chuck The IceMan Liddel, and to finally settle some old bad blood, Chris The Crippler Leben.

Better watch your mouth Randy Couture.

Wasn't Weidman v GayJesus supposed to be a #1 contender match?

What a joke this sport has become.

Haha first thing I thought was "Billing plays the Classics" well done

Such bull****.

Jesus. Between McGregor Syndrome and new ownership the UFC went from 0 to Boxing really damn fast. What's really odd is Maia/Masvidal if GSP isn't going to cut in light for the WW belt. Maia said he was willing to wait to fight the winner of the rematch so I assume he was pressured to take another (completely pointless) fight.

It would be hilarious if Bisping managed to lose, but his TDD is stellar at MW so I can't imagine an older, slower GSP doing anything there, and Mike is certainly the superior boxer with a bonus height and reach advantage. Still hoping for an upset just so Bisping ends his career losing to a geriatric welterweight. Then GSP rematches Hendricks for his first defense.

8-0 in the UFC, 3 straight top 5 wins, plus a top 10 win. It's insane really. Probably make him fight Rockhold lol.

Everyone on the internet seems to hate the fight. I guess it'll still do big numbers though. Lot of people seem to be turning on GSP as well, refused to fight Silva all those years due to size but is now fighting Bisping coming off retirement.

If Bisping beats GSP it would be at minimum ~18 months between him winning the title & defending it against a legit #1 contender.

Can you describe the injury he talked about?

It would be awful for one of your biggest failures to be so public and humiliating. Of course some people can handle it, but it seems like others can not.
He fought 8 times after the TUF KO.

The previous page is total AIDS. Yeah, he could be suffering from CTE, he could've been on drugs, it could be him snapping due to the humiliating loss, but you're all just pulling assumptions out of your ass so who knows? Anyway, hope he's OK.

This.
GSP but wish he would just stay retired. Will be routing for him to win but wtf.
Bisping sure went on a hardcore good luck heater from late in the Rockhold fight onwards.

Johnny has to be a way better wrestler than Bisping which makes GSP's wrestling less effective. Plus he feared and was clipped by Johny's power. That's certainly a huge difference, right? But yeah, your points are valid. #wargsp

Someone in these threads was saying this was going to happen. That guy was on it.

Wow odds are out

GSP -150
Bisping +120

Bet the house on Bisping? Never thought I'd say that lol.

Oh man, saw the Web MD link and thought cancer for sure. Damn that sucks, so he's just in pain all the time. Wonder if his style of footwork accentuated/catalyzed that?
03-01-2017 , 04:25 PM
First title fight in a really long time I'll skip and just read the results after. Hendo was bad but at least there was the revenge angle, this just sucks.
