Easy 1.2 lbs of pressure on that towel. Whatever.
04-07-2017 , 12:55 PM
DC was putting pressure on the towel. 1.2lb can easily be compensated for by doing that. Like everyone else I'll be glad the fight goes ahead but it seems ridiculous he can get away with something so blatent.
04-07-2017 , 01:07 PM
Like everyone else, idgaf about the 1.2 lbs...but the fact that he was bummed a few minutes earlier then cheered and congratulated himself after that bs cheat is unpalatable af.

If that's the worst thing he does he can still marry my daughter, but I'll have my eye on him...
04-07-2017 , 01:15 PM
This ridiculousness aside, can we talk about Rumble weighing in at 1.2 lbs less than he needed to make (while wearing sweatpants!) at the last possible minute?? JFC, be smarter!!
04-07-2017 , 01:32 PM
OK then...

04-07-2017 , 01:41 PM
seems like they have a real explanation that doesnt involve cheating but is super dumb and they look super shady
04-07-2017 , 01:53 PM
Lol. Shoulda have held onto the towel he brought out, hidden behind the UFC towel - woulda been more subtle.

Still, am happy the fight is going ahead.

If only Khabib knew about the towel trick.
04-07-2017 , 02:04 PM
You know the more I think about it the less I am okay with it, mostly because others have lost significant money and absorbed damage to their careers without the opportunity to cheat.
04-07-2017 , 02:10 PM
those dudes were all cheating and taking steroids tho
04-07-2017 , 02:22 PM
makes no sense if they covering something shady, it s not like UFC care if he lose some of his purse. Much more to lose than to gain

Weidman looking a bit McGregor for this cut.

Longo also looking like he's about to rape the camera man.

The quote from the NYSAC guy is slightly out of context. He thought that the issue was that DC was holding the towel up on the first weigh in, accounting for a bit of extra weight, then on the second weigh in he wasn't holding it up. Didn't seem to realise people were implying that he was holding his own weight on it.

Also that guy reminded me a lot of Phillip Green from Casino. Officially "in charge" but hasn't got a clue what is going on and is just being told what to do and say by people behind the scenes.

Fwiw I tried it on my scales and you need to put barely any pressure through just one finger to take off 1.2lb.

Dude was eating french toast with maple syrup on Monday, so it can't have been that tough a cut unless he ****ed it up!

How easy is it to keep a steady exact 1.2 lbs off?

Not sure because my scales probably work differently to theirs. Mine "think" for about 5 seconds then display a fixed weight. It would be almost impossible to get an exact 1.2lb because you don't see how much weight you're taking off before it displays the final weight.

If their scales display a constant, real-time weight I guess it would be much easier. Using a towel to balance your weight on would be pretty difficult though I guess because of the movement in the towel and from the guys holding it.

it s fairly easy on a regular scale

He was clearly holding the towel, but it's ****ing weird that Rumble weighed in exactly 1.2lb under. Especially wearing sweat pants. Does Rumble usually have a big weight cut for 205?
04-07-2017 , 03:11 PM
NYSAC should fine Cormier unless he has a real good explanation (and they should ask).
04-07-2017 , 03:12 PM
This event just keeps getting weirder.

So dumb. Meisha spent most of her career with implants (and was the MSG card, btw).

I'm glad the fight is still on for the belt, but Rumble got ****ed by not getting 20% of DCs purse. I'd be super pissed if I was Rumble.

Also I think Weidman was just the leanest he's ever been for this fight. He's ripped as hell. He's usually got a fat face, so he looks weird being so lean. He was also running around being playful with Gian and talking about how light he is.

I'm also a fanboy.

LEGO

He's obviously #1 p4p GOAT stepson. He told a story with ariel recently where he was watching rocky 3 I think where Rocky is now rich and has lost focus on fighting. He decided he needed to do what Rocky did and was gonna move back into his parents basement for the camp. Got backed and was at the curb and just started crying and knew he couldn't leave his family so decided to just sleep in the guest bedroom lol.

Would it not be for the belt if the champ misses weight? Seems like an awful loophole if a bad camped or shook champ can hedge keeping the strap for 20% of the purse.

I'd assume so. Not really sure, a champs never missed weight.

UFC could possibly strip the champ if they feel like it though.
