Re: Luggage

I sat next to a guy with a saddleback bag in the airport. The way he was holding it and looking at me I could tell he was waiting for me to compliment him on it. It was pretty funny how proud of it he was. They are gorgeous. They do look really heavy to lug around though.

The 30 minutes this bag saves me everytime I travel from 3-5 days is worth the extra $100-$200 I spent over getting something more reasonably priced.
I agree w/ this. but i do check bags. i have the tumi t3 series and the tumi large leather briefcase. i've had both for 9 yrs and 11 yrs respectively. i've had the former fixed for free by tumi after an airline ripped the wheels off (they put a whole new wheel assembly on it) and replaced the worn strap on the briefcase for $25. both bags are in good as new condition minus a few wear scrapes/bumps bruises.

i LOVE them both. def worth the $ regardless.

Re: Luggage

I'm in the market for a new computer bag. I was taking a look at this Filson and was curious if anyone knew anything about them:

The other bag on my short list is a timbuk 2 messenger.

Both of these appear to have enough room for a laptop and other junk but probably not enough space to act as a weekender bag (something else I'm trying to find).

TUMI computer bags are the best. i use them almost daily. problem: they look really boring, IT nerd guy style.

filson is pretty much bulletproof. The world of good bags does not begin and end with tumi.

Re: Luggage

So... bringing this back to topic:

I saw the above linked Filson in person today and it's ridiculously solid. I'm looking at a couple of bags at a local men's store on Thursday but I think I'll end up getting this if I don't' find anything else.

BTW, there is a Tumi sale at OKL today.

Re: Luggage

I have that Filson bag in a duffle in that same brown colorway. It's great. You won't be disappointed. Plus, lifetime warranty.
