All the clasps are redic expensive. For my breitling they were going to charge $225 for the strap and $375 for the clasp...I lol'd and stuck with the steel.

He should have used the momentum of the phrase "Kobe Bryant special" to create a line of huge rocks to give to your girl when you cheat on her, imo.

He used to be a big JLC guy, he gave the entire team Master Compressor Chronos when he won MVP last year I think.

The first two are OK, the last one is a bit garish.

If you don't want to remove the metal bracelet to put your own on you'll have to go with the Seamaster Planet Ocean.

I kind of like the orange bezel.

Planet Ocean looks better off but the Seamaster Professional looks way better on imo.

What defines the "professional"?

i just refer to the first one posted, it doesnt have a specific name like the planet ocean (could call it the James Bond ) or do you mean what defines it as a timepiece?

edit: btw you can get this with the same rubber strap that the planet ocean has

yeah was considering looking into a professional but getting a leather band put on, it's just i have never seen one on leather so don't know how it would look. the planet ocean is pretty massive which isn't ideal as i have pretty thin wrists.

No I was asking what's the difference between the Seamaster and the Seamaster Professional.

Umm, well I think all the Seamasters have professional on them nowadays but given that coombesey referred to the 300M one as 'seamaster pro' differentiating it from the Planet Ocean I followed suit?!

Coombesey I was in the exact same position a few months ago choosing between these two and went for mine precisely because the Planet Ocean was too big and chunky and didnt suit. I also think that the planet ocean wont age well whereas this is a classic design and is timeless, I might be wrong though, time will tell.

I know it's not the best picture, but can anyone identify this watch?:

I don't know but looks like some people in this thread may have guessed it.

It doesn't really match anything posted exactly to me, that's why I brought it here.

It's also bugging me because I know I've seen that distinctive crown guard before, but just can't place it.

Also, i think even though Ivey is the ultimate balla, his "normal" watch is in the 15-20k range iirc, the jump to 255k seems huge to me. Not that i couldn't see him spending that on a watch, i just think the one in the pic is likely a much less expensive piece.

i've seen him wear a royal oak tourbillon on tv and in other photos, another 100k+ watch.. it would not surprise me if all his watches were 100k

to put things in perspective, my "normal" watches are 10k and i'm no "balla"

Unless you're a 30k/year millionaire, i think most people would disagree.

Out of curiosity what are Ivey's other 15-20k watches? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he recently got a 255k watch. His fame has increased dramatically since he made the WSOPMEFT and Full Tilt probably pays him a **** ton for every second of national tv time he gets (he had that E:60 segment on ESPN).

Just the few that I've seen: a regular ROO, a stainless Big Bang, a Black Bang, he also bought this thing which while not 250k expensive probably closes the price gap a little.

I don't actually remember, i just remembering asking what type of watch he was wearing in some tournament about a year ago, then googling the price. I think it was either an AP or a Vacheron.

Also fwiw, i think all the current PADs they're airing were shot before WSOP 2009 started, i could be mixing up the seasons though.

people might disagree but the fact still remains that someone like Phil Ivey is significantly worth a lot more than myself and my friends yet many of us can afford to have 10k+ pieces on our wrist.
