Can someone recommend me a watch with a silver bracelet and a black dial for under $1k?

You can find some nice Raymond Weil pieces fitting that description for under $1K.

"tag" and "worth the extra money" should never be in the same sentence IMO. Especially if you're talking new. You can pick them up used pretty reasonably, though.

you need to get more specific as to desired functions, quartz or mechanical (then handwound or automatic), size, dressy or sporty.

Don't drop 4k on a substitute if the one you really want costs 6k. That Stowa is a good choice though and will set you back around $1k.

I'm partial to the Monaco and Carrera lines, but I wouldn't pay $1k for a quartz Formula 1.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I love a few of the Monacos. The Carrera is nice, but I think I'd rather have an Omega for the money.

I think pvn is getting at the rather bloated price of Tags already. If that's where he's going, I agree.

You won't ever catch me paying $1K+ for a quartz of any kind.
