Also be prepared without box and papers to take a reasonable hit vs with.

Will need some references as well.

Some tips; ensure good photos, thorough description, etc. Just take a look at some of the other sales posts on there that look 'official' and don't take that format for granted.

depends what they are. As an ebay seller with little feedback and no relevant transaction history you will probably have a hard time selling high end watches. You will probably get raped going to your local buy/sell operation. You will also have a hard time selling through forums since you have no posting/transaction history. If they are liquid manufactures like rolex/ap/iwc/omega/etc and you live in nyc/san fran/boston/a select few other locations there will be a reputable dealer near you who wont gouge you quite as badly. Best bet is probably to determine their fair market value, and then try to negotiate with brick and mortar guys towards that value. There is a question of time value obviously, the amount you are getting gouged for may not be consequential to you. You may also consider listing them on WUS/TZ etc at an appropriate discount to fair value which compensates for your lack of rep. The more expensive the watch, the more people are inclined to 'buy the seller' so the bigger this discount may have to be.

PS If you have any Rolex/IWC i may be interested

Bit of a noob here but looking for a couple of watches.

Thoughts on first a a cheaper more every day watch, 1500-3500 or so. Automatic movement, assume there are no in houses in that price range. Right now I'm liking omega but am open to other suggestions in this range.

2nd watch, a nicer 8-12k watch but would really like an in house movement assuming its available in this price range. Any recco's on brands to check out?

Thanks for your help.

You're gonna need to be a lot more specific about what you want.

also why not just make the "nicer" watch your everyday watch?

Fair enuff. Generally like the omega seamaster and seamaster look. White or silver face. For dressier I was thinking leather band but I also Like the looks of the black rolex millgauss. I like the iwc watches but really don't want to pay 10k for an eta movement so would like some alternatives with in house movements.

So if you like the Seamaster (I am assuming you mean the AT) then why not just get it and not worry that you're not spending as much as you could have?

That sounds like a pretty good plan. I think I'll go with it. Thanks for the help.

It's a fantastic watch. You should at least look at the blue dial, it's really nice.

BTW gritmonkey, if you like the aquaterra but want something with a more unique movement, there are annual calendar ATs.

Yeah, especially the blue one. You should really check it out live, the dial is gorgeous. And technically the 8500 is in-house. This is very versatile watch, sporty but also dressy. Available in 38mm and 41.5mm, wears slightly larger than you might think.

Really like the one you posted. Also like these:

Kind of town between leather or stainless bands.

Definitely get the SS first, you probably end up wanting one at some point and those cost a bitch, Not that OEM gator+clasp is cheap either.
