Re: Let's Talk Watches
I won't lie, I'm stumped. At first I thought it was the perpetual calendar, but it has a chrono pusher. It has four subdials so it's definitely got some kind of calendar, and it has a skeleton dial.
Must have been some limited edition cuz I can't find it on AP's site.
It's definitely an AP, though. I'll guy Cirque De Soleil's bluff on that for sure.

first guess.. AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar..
but since it's Guy it could also be some bespoke grand complication made custom for him (AP is known to do this)

Re: Let's Talk Watches
pretty sure the grand complication is a good guess though it might be missing the minute repeater/tourbillon.
Looks like perpetual calendar, chrono, moonphase combo.

As far as Hublot and in-house chronos:
If it's in that 12-15k range, it's not a manufacture. The Aero(even the morgan edition) uses a 7750.
I know Hublot was kind of working on basically a copy of the 7750, I don't know if that's what they're calling in-house or not. I KNOW that anything from them with a column wheel is in-house.
I'm sure those are outrageously expensive, though.
EDIT: I should be a bookie
http://www.swissluxury.com/hublot-wa...nico.htm#10646
Keen eyes can see the column wheel at 6
Don't forget, if you're looking for that Hublot look but slightly calmer:

Classic Fusion. And as one might guess, it comes in every color combination imaginable. I think this one is zirconium(don't ask me, I think it's a harder grade steel) with a ceramic bezel
Or

Royal Oak Jumbo(non offshore) Online WIS will love it, it has an in-house movement, the back shows this really insane solid gold rotor, and it's something like 39mm and fairly thin. It's also very comfortable.
We just went from a HBB to an AP Jumbo. If this doesn't make a case that one can never have enough watches, I don't know what will

I have that exact Hublot and love it. Still think it looks awesome every time I look at it + reflects light in cool ways

Re: Let's Talk Watches
You know, when talking about ETA based watches in the under $5000 range, we rarely talk about Tudor on this board.
I think some of their offerings are just stunning, such as the heritage chrono
(first picture is the old one)
and now the new grantour
always had a soft spot for the old snowflake too

Re: Let's Talk Watches
Saw pics of a new tudor chrono a few days ago on some blog. It was a ducati supersport inspired piece, but unlike most motorsports watches it didn't look stupid and gimmicky. In fact it looked great. Can't remember what it was called though.

I think this looks great although the internal bezel is not super utilitarian on a diver as you can't really operate it under water.

This is very nice

Re: Let's Talk Watches
The first Tudor pic I do not like. The rest are very nice. I will add my views are very basic - colour really. Nice suggestions.

Re: Let's Talk Watches
well the first one is of the old watch from the 70s that the 2nd one is paying homage to.

Makes sense. The first one is gaudy.

Re: Let's Talk Watches
I like the Tudor Heritage a lot, but it's over my budget.
I would appreciate suggestions on other chrono's with a black / orange color scheme.
Edit: just looked at their site and wow, the Heritage Advisor !

Try looking for some vintage heuer pieces. I'm no expert so I don't know any names or anything, but many of the ones I see pop up in sales forums have some color to them. If you don't mind some odd case shapes then omega might fit the bill as well, 70s speedies are quite colorful.
