So I'm buying my watch on Tues

It's unfortunately not there but I've negotiated everything else out of the way. So apparently dealers can lose their ability to carry brands if the company finds out they're discounting.

But what he will do instead is give me the bracelet for 20% off. It's absurd how much JLC charges for their bracelet but I have the feeling it looks better on me than leather, so like a fish, I'm getting it.

very happy though. Pretty much saved myself 1k without having to travel anywhere outside of my hometown, and I get to buy a watch that I'm absolutely in love with.

How much is the bracelet? I'm guessing around $1,200? That's still some pretty expensive hardware, but whatever, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Congrats on the purchase!

One thing that will make you feel better:

There are countless companies that can make a leather/croc/ostrich/eel/snake/horse/baby/frog skin strap for that watch. One one company makes a bracelet.

Stupid question - just got my Seiko SNDA65. I also purchased a replacement strap, the bond zulu maratac 22mm.. It came in one peice but its very clearly two peices on the stock strap... did i buy the wrong thing?

Zulus are one piece by design. This is a utilitarian safety feature.

To install the zulu, remove the stock strap, then reinstall just the spring bars. Then simply thread the zulu through the spring bars.

The safety feature is that if one of the springbars fails, the watch will still be attached to your wrist.

I am probably one of the few on this thread that really like the Nautilus but somehow that Bulgari doesn't make me feel anything though maybe live shots will be different.

The craigslist ad for my Laguna:

Halios Laguna for sale!

Do you guys know of better sites to sell privately? Watch forum sites, I presume...?

I think the 2 biggest ones are the WatchUSeek and Timezone forums.

That's the best pic of the blue Laguna I've seen yet. The others didn't really do it for me, but that looks fantastic.

I'm kind of in love with the main piece of that blue laguna, but for some reason the ratio of the width of the body of the watch and the width of the strap is giving me issues. It probably has to do with the fact that the edge on which the strap joins the casing is straight, and I mentally want the band to take up as close to the whole edge as possible?

Likely something like that, yeah. The way that's structured is the main complaint I have about the Laguna. The transition is much more abrupt than I'd like.

Relatedly, I don't much care for the lugless design of the puck. It ends up making it seem unbalanced in the wrist shots I've seen of it.

Finally got my Capeland back from servicing, took almost 3 months but it's running spot on and the bill was very reasonable. Jack @IWW does great work, he's just got a huge backlog. He should probably jack up his rates.

Jack's great. I've done a few things with him most recently had my Linde Werdelin DLC'd.

On the Capeland front, sad to report, it's on the sales forum at the moment... I love the darn watch but seem to look at it more than wear it!

was that yours? I hope you get the $2k for it. I think I'm probably going to flip mine at some point as well, an aquatimer or a GMT master is probably in my future.

Aquatimer is cool.. but I flipped that too. Had the white dial version w/ rubber and bracelet.

There's mine + another listed.. the other is north of my listing.
