As I posted in the last thread, I bought this watch from Amazon. I paid 60-70% of what it cost at the local Authorized Distributer.

I quickly found out that it was fast. It gains 30 - 35 seconds per day.

Here are my questions.

Can I go back to Perfect Timing, the Amazon seller, and get them to adjust it?

Will the local AD [Bloomingdales] laugh at me if I ask them, since I bought it on the internet?

Is 30 sec/day the best I can get with that movement? [ETA 2836-2, 4 Hz, 25 jewel]
buy a quartz if things like this annoy you. personally i wouldn't bother. it's not a chonometer.

I'm looking at this one as my next purchase. I like the bright colors. Thoughts?

Wow... no.

Oris make fine watches and 30 seconds/day is not acceptable.

milliondollaz, I would contact the dealer and ask them about your options. You might want to post this on Timezone if you want more/better answers.

Hello I am interested in buying a designer watch from Kenneth Cole

I really like this watch because it has every feature aethstetically I could possibly want. Its exactly the watch of my dreams.

-Circular face
-Roman Numerals
-Skeleton
-Does NOT show date
-3 hands

Now I dont know anythng about watches but from what I gather designer watches like these aren't looked upon too well. Most would consider these brand names trash. Now my question is WHY.

What are the cons of buying something that is more designer made? Is it going to fall apart in a week or something? I simply want something that just tells the time and hopefully lasts a few years.

Thanks.

it's not enough of a problem for me to bother getting it repaired. if it was losing 10 minutes a day that would be different. i don't know why people expect mechanical watches to be precise.

i would just readjust it every five days. unless you wear the same watch everyday, you'll be constantly setting and winding them anyway.

My first watch was a K Cole and it is pretty nice. I paid $40 for it and I love it. Their watches are better than their clothes IMO, and especially better than their shoes. Just make sure you wait till one of their 40%+ off days to get it.

I knew that this picture was missing something! These wrists are sorely lacking in accessories. That watch would be PERFECT here. I say go for it.

Thoughts?

Seems like a pretty solid deal for <$400

^^ That's got a nice look to it. No idea regarding quality or whatnot, but I like the look.

Which version should I go with, A or B?

Depends on your personal style. A is more classic while B is slightly more modern.

edit: What site are you looking at those watches on?

Price range is $750-$800. I'll let you know what dealer I decide on if you are interested.

I like B. I'd probably get one if it had normal numbers rather than the Roman numeral.

More just curious as I hadn't seen them on any of the online sites and I was wondering what the price range was. Personally I'd go with A if you're set on one of the two, but its gotta be whichever you like better.

This is another Jacques Lemans watch I'm considering.

I like this one better, but I'm partial to arabic numbers, especially when they're just at 12/3/6/9.

I also like this piece because it's all dial and no bezel. I love that look. The minute hand on this one looks ridiculously long (a plus in my book). Straight lugs. Textured dial. A+ piece IMO.

I like the clean look of this watch. How large is it?

I've never quite gotten the obsession with the Panerai's. I get the history and quality argument, but just aesthetically they're really ugly to me.

42mm. My wrist is 8" so I'm not really worried about it being "large".

Burko, first 3 watches you posted are some of the sexiest in the world for <6k imo, except I would take a Luminor with black face.

to me panerai's history extend back after stallone and when it was bought out. the italian military stuff with the mom & pop tie in is cool, but really has no tie to modern day panerai (except the homage and retro design). i like panerai for their unique design and ultra simple dial (same goes with IWC owned by the same group), which is a stark contrast from my breitlings.

this is a cool shot of my 233: dr. jekyll
