Agreed. In pics it looks like just another pilot. In real life it's awesome.

Re: Let's Talk Watches

I dunno about the JLC "tactical" watches. They look a little bit too contrived. Chasing B&R is beneath JLC IMO.

Believe me I'm a fan of the GV too but 1 its more expensive 2 it wont look as good with a bathing suit.

I'll keep my options open. I'm going to go to a few ADs right now and see what's up. Maybe they'll give me a free one since I can't really afford it in the first place.
This is cheaper than what you were looking at (I think) but some guy at the poker table in Stokcholm last night had it on and I thought it looked great:

Review: http://www.time2watch.net/SeamasterGMTreview.htm

It's the Omega Seamasters GMT white face. I tried to go into a shop that sold watches here but the lady said it was discontinued so I think second-hand is the way to go for it. I've tried a couple places here again for that but apparently Omegas are really popular in Sweden and they didn't have it anywhere (or anything similar) so I'm going to look for it when I get back in Canada.

Re: Let's Talk Watches

Any of you guys have the Baume & Mercier Classima Executive 8688?

I like the way it looks, but I'm kinda worried that it'll be to thin, just ~1cm (10mm) thick.

http://www.uret.se/baume-mercier-cla...xl-p-4428.html

I will most likely to be able to get this at half price, SEK 10 000.

Any thoughts?

My trainer at the gym yesterday had on this watch. Pretty sweet watch I thought for $150 bucks. Looked really good and could be a cool beater for swimming/beach type stuff.

Re: Let's Talk Watches

I have developed a pretty major hardon for the california dial as seen in the glycine incursore I have mentioned a few times.

Unfortunately I can't really find any other pieces that are reasonably priced that use this style dial. It's pretty much limited to super-vintage rolex pieces or the PAM 249 (both way outside my micro-baller budget).

There are some cheap chinese 249 homages for $100 or so, and there are some REALLY nice replica 249s for ~$300 (and I'm not morally opposed to buying high-quality replicas), but that piece is 47mm.

If anyone has some cali dial examples I'd love to see more.
