What's everyone think of ESQ watches? They are made by Movado and have a swiss movement.

Any thoughts on the below watches? I just got a bunch of amazon credits for my birthday and am looking to expand my collection (which is just an orange monster atm ). I'm looking for something more classic/conservative. I've been loving some of the pilot watches shown...

While I wait on my Sinn U1, my latest obsession has been the Ball Hydrocarbon watches... anyone have any thoughts on these? Not my ideal size (44mm+), but the Mad Cow model at 42mm is damn cool.

If you like the Pilot style and are looking for a watch sub $500, I would suggest you look in to Steinhart and Tourby. A lot also depends on the size you're looking for.

I have heard some good things re Chase-Durer brand, but not familiar first hand.

If you want a stellar and gorgeous pilot for a great bargain, get the Prometheus Recon 5. Boutique Portuguese manufacturer and I think there are a good set of pics a few pages back.

If it's a 60's model..my guess is it's a 36-37mm or so.

Beautiful watch.

Got a HU from my wife that she was searching watches for me. Current watch is a citizen ecodrive calibre 8700. I love it but wouldn't mind a different watch. Something analog with nice face and metal band. I need a recommendation in the $500-$600 range as the 1000 mark has her gun-shy. I think that takes Oris, Omega and some of the other watches I was interested in out of the equation.

thoughts/recommendations?

I like the Tissot cronographs. That's about the standard style I wear right now. I like metal bands and something less than fully dressy would be good. Diver is cool, so is Racing. Partially skeletonized is also intriguing.

I was checking out the Tissot T-racing series but that is probably too sporty. BTW. Wife said <$1000 may be a possibility.
