Holy **** @ Rafa's watch. I expected Federer to wear his Rolex for a match before Nadal ever wore one.

They're a small outfit whose whole schtick is that they don't advertise, he puts out small numbers but has a pretty loyal fanbase on watch forums, popular with modders etc. You can get most of their stuff used in the high end of the >1k range.

Hodinkee writeup of one his most recent pieces.

Thanks for the info dibbs.. will definitely check them out more.

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Dievas model they put out? Thinking would look great on a Maratec Zulu black w/ blue stripe.

I f'ing hate agents that make you do this. It's only occurred to me flying out of Vegas where they also tossed something out of my toiletries bag because it was like 107g (limit is 100g). Happened in Frankfurt too (f that place).

I will check 'em out.. don't love the huge caseback styles..

If anyone comes across an original Scorpion (now Serket) Reef Diver, let me know! I'm intrigued by the new 2.0 model, but the crown seems too oversized. The original model looks awesome, only 100 made, so hard to find. If anyone has any good info on this company (pros,cons), let me know.

Original Reef Diver 1.0;

Reef Diver 2.0;

Aw yeah. Even more balla is gettin paid to wear the watch.

Mr. Nadal played his first match since making a deal with Richard Mille, a French designer of very expensive timepieces, to wear a new $525,000 watch during games...

Without knowing the amount of money most top tennis stars are on, I still kind of assumed that. Even with 50 million thats a lot of money to spend on a single item, and i doubt he'd willingly wear it then playing a high velocity sport.

Looks awesome. But seriously IRL; How do you tell what time it is without staring at it for like ten seconds...?

That must be some sort of new-ish tourbillion because tourbillions aren't made for like high impact and what not.

There is one thats brand new from Glashutte caled Sport EVO tourbillion that has shock absorbers and is supposed to be the first tourb made that is for the "active" lifestyle such as golf, boating, tennis, etc.

That is one sick ass watch though.

For 6k buy a brand that is well known, will hold its value, and you will actually be able to resell in case you need to down the road.

Thoughts on this?

I think it's a pretty cool casual watch.

well I mean to each their own but spending 1k on a watch with a working tourby seems like a good idea if you are a fan of watchmaking and don't see the purchase as an investment.

actually I'm looking at this thread also and it seems that one could potentially get a tourby for less than $500? I don't know, that seems like a low price to pay for something that might give a lot of personal enjoyment.

$500 tourbillon sounds like an oxymoron to me. not sure how much "work" would go into a mass-produced $500 tourbillons. so instead of a highly skilled watchmaker painstakingly putting this horological wonder together by hand, you have an assembly line of 50 middle-aged chinese workers slapping parts together.

i'm probably oversimplifying the process but honestly what do you get out of owning a $500 tourbillon? because on the other end people don't buy 5k swiss watches to tell time.
