I was at a watch show in Kentucky earlier this week, and it seemed to be the norm from all the dealers that soon here "big" watches will be out and small will come back in. It was an interesting thought, but I think people will always love the looks of bigger watches such as Panerai.

Also, watches are great cause they are versatile. You can wear big and small on different days, you don't have to choose just one.

Big watches just look better than smaller ones imho

I can't see it changing any time soon.

the watch world is VERY influenced by the fickle whims of fashion.

Been reading blurbs about that too, the examples I remember being that AP were starting to make male ROOs in 37mm and that new Rolexes were already scaling back a tiny bit. But yea I can't see big watches going away anytime soon.

I sold my Navitimer and have been looking for used blue numeraled Portos and Reversos, I tried on a Reverso Classique (41x26mm) months ago and felt it was too small, but tried one on again this week and I'm pretty smitten, kinda wanna go smaller.

That said, my 44mm Marina is probably my fav watch.

This Yobokies guy who has a few pieces for sale floating around on WUS is doing some cool mod stuff in Seiko monster cases, which is just so close to perfect for a diver in my mind.

That ones still up for sale for $275 by some secondhand buyer on WUS.

Now if he can just jam the Sinn U1 face/dial in there for me....

Yep...I saw that on the PMWF. Those Plongeur hands on the monsters look good.

Thoughts on the variations of this?

The leather one is about $500, the other one is more like $600 (from the site I'm looking at them, domestic swedish one).

Would it be better to buy one from amazon etc?

Yes too poor to get a breitling

Don't like them at all I'm afraid, the face is much to cluttered.

If you're looking for something along the way of Breitling Navitimer you should take a look at some of the Sinn's... much nicer then the Seiko's you posted... imo.

Also I wouldn't buy from Uret, take a look at blocket or timetotalk.se (swedish watch forum)

Here's a pretty nice one:

The one on the bracelet looks pretty cool (obviously a navitimer rip, but still looks good). The first just looks weird to time with the thick bezel, and the lugs seem off for some reason, too.

Sinns are real nice, but they're in a completely different price range. Hamilton may have some stuff that you like in that range, can't remember the specific models, though. Also possibly Tissot.

I've been trying to grab one of these for a while but they move fast and I kept missing out. Finally grabbed this one. Anxiously awaiting delivery.

The sea devil was a limited edition. They show up quite a bit on WUS but they are always snapped up in an hour or two.

I paid $450 for that one, which is about average for 95% pieces. Helluva deal for a 1000m diver considering what you get IMO.

Love the Yobokies monster and the Benarus.

I bought new glasses last week. Turns out, each frames' lens length is measured in MM - 41(tiny) 46(small) 51, etc... Thanks to watches, I actually knew these numbers. Haha.
