Isn't that the marketing strategy of basically every luxury good provider?

Obviously, but the fact is you can walk into any decent mall in America and buy a Gucci/Prada/Bulgari/Breitling/Rolex whatever the ****, but Panerai has kept their production number and dealer number pretty locked down, keeping exclusivity totally jacked up compared to the other brands they are competing with.

Just from the posts on here, you'll see Panerai buyers spouting about how many were made of their model, how it will increase in value and what it's worth bla bla, compare this to Rolex, Omega, Tag, Breitling, whatever buyers in the same price range, totally different sales/client mantra going on in their heads.

Example I can remember, there are more in the first part of this thread though:

"I bought a Panerai (they are all limited editions) 6 years ago for $2,500 and was offered $5,500 as a trade-in, so yes. All Panerais appreciate in value. They are very nice watches, there are people who collect them, and the limited editions make each more valuable. Mine was only 1 of 1500 (it has it's own number) that will ever be made. And mine is dinged up. The store guy shrugged and said he'd seen worse. So, yeah, I'm really happy w/ my choice."

The type of marketing vibe going on with Panny buyers is just very different from competitors in the same price range. You don't see Rolex/Breitling/Omega buyers in this price range spouting off this kind of rhetoric.

This sounds like what my neighbor said about pets.com stock ten years ago.

even though they retain their value well...all panerais don't appreciate in value, not even most. unless you got in real early, like the pre-2001-02 or before richemont bought them out...only the LEs with set #s that was only produced that 1 year have gone up. some may prefer a particular series because of a dial change or back decoration so there's a slight premium, but nothing in the 100% appreciation level.

i like panerai, but tbh they're terribly overpriced for what they are. but they're starting to roll out in-house movements so when you pay up it might not just be for a common ETA movement. also pams are pretty easy to find these days, only big waiting lists are for the LEs where people look to buy (and flip).

Yeah, 2+2er clayton played with SG during a WSOP event last year and said his watch was the most expensive looking piece he'd ever seen. Safe to say Sammy George is ballin out of control.....

Pretty sure I am going to pick this up, just curious if I could get some feed back. Perhaps from someone who has this piece or someone who wears a Hamilton.

I've got a Khaki Field Automatic and love it. Recently added the upcoming Jazzmaster Slim Seconds to my wish list as well.

Love it

Have you tried it on? 45.5mm -- pretty sizey just to point out if you haven't had a larger sized watch before. I love it though.

About $1750 I think. Hamilton Jazzmaster Moonphase.

The first model posted was the Jazzmaster Open Heart.

Ballin out with bad taste. Something about all Hublot watches makes me want to throw up, even more so when I see earlier models.
