moving the subdials isn't really a practical option. It would require some pretty serious re-engineering.

Shrinking them is possible but would mess up the aesthetics pretty badly IMO.

subdial "eating" into hour indicies is pretty standard. It does drive some people crazy, especially when we're talking about arabics but it's basically an unavoidable part of the game. Usually if it really bothers you, you can find a non-chrono version of the piece.

It's a JSAR. It's really big, but feels more manageable than the Sea Devil.

I've heard varying things about android but don't know much about them myself. seems like they use a wide range of movements from solid japanese movements such as the Miyota 8xxx to some junky chinese ones. Do some research on the individual pieces and you should be fine.

Just found this subforum, and I doubt it's in the spirit of this thread from what I've seen so far, but here's one for the small stakers. Pic doesn't do it justice btw.

Now, back to the watch porn..........

how do you feel about the ss bracelet on the jsar? I was thinking of picking up a sar because it's such a tank but I didn't know whether to splurge on the bracelet or not.

Just a skeleton/open heart second hand dial. The tourbillons were way more then I wanted to spend on a Chinese watch. I'd definitely recommend these (if it still works in a month or two) to someone who can't afford a 1k+ watch.

The bracelet is really nice. The links are a little different than the standard oyster type bracelet, the midlinks are slightly angled up on one end, which gives it a just-slightly-more-aggressive appearance IMO.

The links themselves are solid as hell. I really like the fact that the endlinks are permanently attached to the bracelet, and are not just decorative caps that are only held in place by the lug springbar.

The clasp and hinge are pretty disappointing compared to the rest of the bracelet, though. Just your standard stamped-steel friction clasp with fliplock. A push-button lock instead of friction would have been nice. A machined clasp would have been more fitting for a bracelet in this price range. It does have a flip-out diver extension which is nice, but it looks pretty flimsy.

It's a pretty expensive bracelet. I don't know if I'd really splurge for it or not if I were doing it again. I bought the JSAR used and got a deal I couldn't pass up on the combo, but if I were buying new I would think pretty hard about it.

I'm wearing the JSAR on a maratac elite right now, which is a helluva strap IMO for $20. I'm probably going to give it a week on each of the elite, a regular zulu, and the bracelet before making any final judgements.

that actually seems like a pretty good price for that watch. 10k for manufacture movement with hour and power reserve complication, with a nice case to boot.

I know a little while ago I posted asking about selling a watch and there were some people here who said they had done a fair amount of business on tz or wus. I am actively looking to get rid of my IWC Portofino Chronograph (I want to buy that Sinn U1 I believe) and if anyone could help me w that it would be much appreciated.

Disclaimer: I know full well this is not the type of watch that appeals to the majority of this board.

Just got in my new Stowa Antea KS. Here's the watch (with deployment clasp):

And a wrist shot:

I love the Bauhaus style and small size (35.5mm) which wears slightly larger because of the bezel width. I mean no offense by this, but what I absolutely didn't want was something like the massive, cluttered Breitling look (which I acknowledge is very popular among members here). I was looking for something simple, clean, and elegant and I think I found that here.

Sapphire crystal front and back even though the movement (Peseux 7001) is somewhat pedestrian. The finishing work dresses it up a bit (blued screws, Geneva stripes) but I'll look for something a bit more exotic next time out.

All in all a nice watch that fits my criteria from a company that seems to have developed quite the online following. My experience as a customer was very positive even though I did have to wait four months for the watch (thankfully the USD got stronger during that time). I would recommend for people looking for similar pieces.

If there's any interest I'll try and get up some pictures in better lighting. Cheers!

nice watch. the radial placement makes the "3" look weird to me though, only downside to this very classical, elegant watch.
