FWIW, I don't particularly like chronos (in general) and I especially don't like "dress" chronos, and I think this particular piece is on the small side compared to the current fashion.

Well, originally I was planning on getting the Omega Seamaster, but decided to try on the Pasha at the shop and really liked it. The dials are a little too big, though.
Essentially I'm looking for a watch that I can wear with a suit, but also T-shirt and jeans. Not a fan of leather bands.
Any suggestions? Price range could be 2k to 10k.

Me personally I'd be all over a JL-C Master Control series. You can throw a bracelet on there if you want. As others have said I think a fine shop will do that for you.

Like I said, I'm not a big chrono fan. If you are, though, how about a Glycine Altus? It would be in the lower end of your price range.

Personally, if I had that budget and could only get one watch, I'd probably pick up a Spring Drive.

These are way outside the dominant tastes in this forum, though.

Or the G-P Classique full calender
which I LOVE(especially if it existed in SS without a visible month) but it's just too expensive and I can definitely make do without a full calendar.
any suggestions?
EDIT: I'd really like a visible full sweeping second hand too.

Lose the seeping hand criteria and take a look at a Patek Calatrava. Timezone is a good place to look, but the resemble the GP you posted and comes with all kinds and levels of complication. Just find the pne you want and mine for a price.
Blancpain is a company that has awesome looking and selling watches 100% in the classic round shape. These are clean and well built pieces.

Those are all way outside of his price range, though.

Re: Let's talk non-Rolex watches
Six weeks after first posting the pics I picked up the leather band Oris Skeleton yesterday. La swiss at the Eaton center was renovating for almost the entire time, so I didnt have the opportunity to try it on, and I bought it the first day they re-opened. They actually had the Maurice as well, and it was quite a bit 'bulkier' and I didnt even bother trying it on.
With the USD surging and the 30% off "retail' the salesman gave me, I figure I got it for half off, so im lucky the store was closed for renos

Re: Let's talk non-Rolex watches
I've never spent more than $40 on a watch lol. I've always worn the cheapo Timex digital watches cuz I never cared about anything other than telling the time quickly. But now I want to get something that looks good and won't look retarded if I wore it with nice clothes. I freakin love this Seiko srk009:
It's $160. What do yall think?

Not bad, though I'm not a huge fan of sub-dials.
If you were willing to go a bit higher (~$300), you could get a *really* nice 6R15 automatic.
SARB043, should be shipping in December. I picked this particular one just because I thought you might be partial to the roman numerals. Most of the SARB line has no numerals, though there are a couple with roman and a couple with arabic.
The SARB line is Japan-only, so you'd have to get it from someone like SeiyaJapan.com, but the build quality is much higher than the stuff in comparable price range that we get in the US.
There are a few quartz models in that line as well, IIRC, or in the (similarly priced and similarly-japan-only) Spirit line if that's what you're into.

I like the face on that one, but I'd prefer a metal band.
Could you elaborate on the difference in quality? thx
