Mitrione was poor though.
He's done some combat sports along with the poker. Remember Diaz winning by gogoplata? He called that and lots of K-1 shows.

He calls tennis too.

lol smh. With how bad the year is looking for the UFC outside of Conor I wouldn't be surprised if Ari and CO try to make a ton of stupid money fights like this.

Tyron holding out to fight guys like Nick #smh
01-12-2017 , 07:41 PM
Hilarious that Nick turns down the fight for more money despite being on a 3 fight losing streak and no wins in half a decade in the most entiled move of all time, then Tyron cries about having to fight the entitled Wonderboy who thinks he deserves a rematch after a draw. lmao.

I don't know, I heard an interview with Dillon Danis today where he said he wasn't going to pop his MMA cherry for some $700 fight contract, he was holding out for a "big money fight"! Buddy, you haven't even had any MMA fights, you're not in the top 5 for BJJs biggest names, and even hardcore UFC fans barely know who you are!

The "holding out for the big money fight" **** is getting out of hand....
01-12-2017 , 08:31 PM
That goes back to Rickson tho, right?

Imma start telling people that's why I haven't turned pro yet.

Rickson had like 10 MMA fights then retired. He demanded insane money to basically protect his undefeated record and the " legend of Rickson. " which to be fair made sense because he probably made a ton of money off the idea. But he wasn't actually looking for big money fights, he was putting an insane price tag to avoid having to fight again. He wanted like 10 million back when the highest paid fighter probably wasn't even getting 100k a fight.

If they can afford to not fight, more power to them... If you take into account of what % of revenue/profits goes to fighters, pretty much everyone is underpaid compared to other sports. Ironically, only guys who aren't (regards to what they bring in) are probably some entry level guys making $10K/$10K

I think it's insane for guys like Tyron to call or Conor, Diaz, GSP when he hasn't even successfully defended the belt yet. Beat a top guy.

LOL there's a Conor emoji app, that's hilarious. WE DONE MADE IT, BAYBAYY!!

No doubt in my mind Nick will be living off his coaching salary in 10 years. Honestly if you look at his snap chat it's kinda sad, he's drunk like 90% of the time. Definitely has an alcohol problem.

Khabib-Ferguson signed for UFC 209.

For Interim bool**** belt, no less.

I mean interim belt makes sense. Conor talking about being out 9 months maybe more, plus we have no idea what his next move is. His next fight doesn't really need to be a defense since he gets to do whatever he wants.

Imagine Khabib/Tony winner has a super impressive performance, and Conor comes back and fights Nate. I'm assuming the interim prevents that most likely, and gives us 5 rounds to boot. One of the best fights to make in MMA right now.
01-12-2017 , 09:48 PM
Interim belts are 100% ok with me as long as 1) they aren't used when a champ is actively defending his title and 2) they guarantee a #1 contender-ship.

it seems weird to put both those great fights on 209

Well dana offered Floyd and conor 25 mill + some ppv. So he wants it but under ufc banner which is a very, very slim chance.
01-13-2017 , 06:54 PM
I mean Dana only underbid by about 600%

I think working theory of UFC PPV is going to be '2 money fights on 1 card is more buys than 2 money fights on 2 cards' They're looking for big big scores.

Since Struve pulled out off his rematch with JDS (which was scheduled for eight days after UFC 208) & Werdum is in shape & looking for a fight, why not put JDS - Vai Cavalo II as as a number one contender ("interim title" to get five rounds) bout on UFC 208?

Thus we get

Holm v. de Randamie
JDS - Werdum (five rounds)
Anderson - Brunson
Jacare-Boetsch
Browne-Lewis

which is kinda solid.
01-13-2017 , 07:31 PM
Werdum already turned down a bout with JDS per Dana.
