Woodley is such a frustrating fighter to like. By all accounts he's a genuinely good guy, humble, and exciting as hell to watch, but then he tries the trash-talk game and the bandwagon comes to a screeching halt. I feel like he's just trying to follow the Conor blueprint and failing miserably. It's as if everybody saw a parkour video and started thinking they could do some ninja ****, too.

however, you're correct, his self promotion is quite annoying, because it's totally obvious he's just straight up lying about picking opponents.

why would wonderboy lie when he said they sent him a bout agreement for woodley a month ago. there's no way tyron had three seperate bout agreements laying there and he was deciding who he was going to bless, like conor does. he was waiting and trying to drum up fan support for a fight with someone (anyone) else but nobody is buying in...once wonderboy took a picture of his bout agreement, he had no choice but to sign or actually look like he's ducking.

I agree, but to be fair he probably gets slammed with "silly black cuck" tweets on the regular. It's more a problem of (understandably) zeroing in on the psychotic tweets and ignoring the far greater number of rationale tweets.

Not even remotely a lawyer, but the timing makes sense no? Now they can't pull his fight without getting in trouble for retaliation (not sure given that he's a contractor). Plus he's 42 and can't have too many paydays left, so there's that as well.

The timing seems great to me. This could easily be his last fight in the UFC, he has the media's attention and now if Overeem pops Hunt looks like a martyr.
