-round 1 was easily cody
-round 2 dom landed a few more shots but the ones cody landed were harder, go ahead and score it for dom, whatever
-rounds 3 and 4 were embarassing for dom
-give round 5 to dom simply because cody did nothing with 3 rounds obviously locked up
it wasn't particularly close. had any good steaks lately?
BJJ Scout breakdown of the Cruz/Cody fight, its very good!
BJJ scout always money. Makes me hyped to see how Cruz might try and alter game in a rematch. Really hope TJ vs Cody happens next and not any of this fight other champ nonsense
Great breakdown. Yea I feel even better that Cruz would do well in a rematch. Cody was basically well prepared for every single thing Cruz does due to all the prior film and team experince he had while Cruz went in basically blind to Codys skills, abilities, and possible game plans.
And yea the TJ fight needs to happen first and it should. Cody money fight posturing will go nowhere like Woodleys hopefully.
Plus TJ now has a lot of info to work with and is probably a better striker than Cruz. Despite fighting stupid and head hunting Cruz the whole fight the striking was super close and probably a small advantage to TJ, what seperates Cruz was his offensive wrestling.
I'd be pretty hyped for that fight though definitely super close imo.

I'm not convinced that the rematch goes any better for Dom. He's on the downward slope of his career, and Cody just seems like the worst matchup in the division for him, he just seemed too familiar with Dom's overall plan that the adjustments would have to be huge i think.
Also agree with Scout questioning Cruz's claim that he was trying to make an "exciting fight", I think he was genuinely stuck for what to do when Cody wasn't fitting the template for responses to his gameplan.

I mean I'm not super confident either. Neck Tatts is young and improving very fast and looks to just be incredibly talented. I'm just saying it's not 100% that Cody > Cruz imo. Enough variables that a rematch going differently is reasonably possible.
Just because he didn't adjust mid fight to something he was completely unprepared for doesn't mean he couldn't after studying and analyzing. I'm going to guess trying to adjust to someone who was a completely different fighter than you expected and was prepared perfectly for most of your game plan isn't easy. Certainly possible with a lot of studying and analyzing though.

I'm not sure if everybody else is in the same boat as me, but I actually didn't realise this was actually No Love who kicked off here with McGregor until the UFC (in a very timely fashion) reupped this clip on their channel this week
You were unfamiliar with "Take care of your underwares"? That's a top 10 all time taunt.
NoLove is pretty high on the "Floyd scale" which is a scale I just made up that measures the distance between a fighter's IQ outside the ring and his IQ inside it.
When you have neck tats AND wear silk scarves, you pretty much have to be!

No, i mean i'm very familiar with the clip, I just always remembered the guy doing the shoving as "Random TUF Competitor". Pretty much same for "underwears" guy!

lol thats pretty excellent, should probably trademark that
When I watched that TUF clip before the Cruz fight I was thinking "wow what a douche", now when I watch I think "wow, what a G". Cody has won me over. Just needs to avoid speaking as much as he can, I think he'd probably lose a war of words to the underwares, English as a 4th language guy.
ya and am i just dumb/special, or did cody not praise jesus in his victory speech over cruz like he normally does? i'm cool with not having to listen to that ****
Cody actually addressed his speaking in his post fight if I recall. Something along the lines of "I don't have much of an education, Dom's got better words, I just wanted to fight".
I'm paraphrasing hard there but he came off super genuine in that. Basically acknowledging he's not a great trash talker or the smartest guy outside the cage, but he can do work inside it.
Tyrun back at it again. The UFC sent him and Wonderboy contracts for UFC 209 and he's refusing to sign.
Calling a dude who wants a rematch after a draw entitled while you try to duck every legit contender and ask for super fights with people who haven't won a fight in half a decade or a super fight with the champion above you despite zero defenses. He literally sat out for over a year refusing to fight unless it was for a title despite his last fight being a complete stinker split decision over Kelvin

The reality is he will fight Wonderboy because he has no say/leverage. So he's just embarrassing himself and alienating himself from the vast majority of fans.
I'd like to see a jeopardy match between Woodley, Garbrandt, and Wolf Blitzer.
