Not to **** on a good laigh at Edmind, but thats not him in the painting. It's an Armenian boxer
It's not Vic, it's him. His Dad painted it for him as a gift and he left it up for that reason. Although I'd rather believe he commissioned it because he's the Armenian Ali.
I've seen claims that the belt being depicted is the WBC international Muay Thai belt, meaning it'd have to be Tarverdyn.
Definitely doesn't look like any of the boxing belts I've seen.
It's closest to the Ring Championship, awarded by the magazine of the same name to the lineal champion (pre-Golden Boy buying the damn magazine). Vic was once the lineal Super Flyweight champ.
"Beautiful, Champ, that’s beautiful," her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, says just above a whisper. Tarverdyan, the head of Glendale Fighting Club, wears cargo pants, his legs and arms shaved, and at 33 his meticulously tapered black beard is beginning to show a few specks of grey. Behind him is a 20-foot mural of Muhammad Ali, standing fists raised, next to a painting of a young Tarverdyan, who once won the WBC Muay Thai welterweight world title. Between the two portraits are the words "Nothing is impossible."
I don't think that point was under dispute, I remember there was a Fight Companion (?) with I think Duane Ludwig (?) where he was telling them to look up his old fights, he was a badass.
The real takeaway here is that Edmund was at some point a champion.

Tarverdyan qualified to be teaching a world-class MMA champion to strike? The mural on the wall in Edmond’s gym shows him standing with the WBC international Muay Thai belt. Tarverdyan (17-2) was supposed to fight an equally experienced Brian Carlos for the belt on September 8th 2007, but something happened. His opponent pulled out, and Edmond instead faced 5-1 Ben Yelle. The replacement was not considered viable or experienced enough to compete for the international title, and so the belt was changed to the USA title.
Patrick Wyman from the Heavy Hands podcast relayed a story of a friend who wished to remain anonymous. This friend used to train at the gym Ronda was at before going to Edmund full-time.
Ronda was going hard in a sparring session winging punches at him when he decided to throw a stiff jab to slow her down. He pops her right on the nose, she starts crying, then pulls off her gloves and leaves.
lol deeper into the article I got the quote from they said they ended up giving him the international muay thai title because it was short notice and they didn't have any other belt to give him.
I still hate Cody but this is pretty hilarious

Still an accomplishment no doubt, and Tarverdyan defeated Yelle for the USA belt. Possibly because of the short notice nature of the fight, Tarverdyan was handed the international belt in victory. Tarverdyan was listed on the official WBC website and in the national rankings as the USA champion. Writing on his own this website Tarverdyan promoted himself as the WBC international champion, claiming a 59-6 record in combat sports.
