You have to at least meet the minimum weight requirement for your class. There are stories of Manny sneaking rocks in his pockets in order to meet the 108 lb. Flyweight limit when he was starting his career.

Someone points Dana to this thread, and that is almost guaranteed to happen!

I honestly think that they should try and take advantage of Nunes' momentum and build her up. Put her on the media circuit doing talk shows and **** for the next six weeks and then have her headline consecutive PPVs. Shevchenko and Pena are fighting 28 January most likely to determine the number one contender. That leaves Pennington available and she's a worthy challenger as she has similar status as Nunes before fighting Ronda as the girl that beat the girl whom beat the girl.

Otherwise they really need to get Stipe on the phone or throw a bunch of money at Werdum to get him to fight JDS. I also think both Anderson and Moussasi would be willing to fight with six weeks notice.

JDS is scheduled to fight Struve, but that's a great call. Werdum-JDS five round title eliminator would make UFC 208 significantly better (still pretty ****ty tho). Mousasi would definitely fight on six weeks notice but I'm not sure Anderson can make 185 that quickly.

Holm v. de Randamie
Werdum v. JDS (five round title eliminator)
Mousasi v. Anderson Silva
Browne v. Lewis
Teixeira v. Cannonier

That's still kind crappy but it would count as an 'excellent non-PPV card' rather than 'average for a Fight Night'.

Nunes idea is solid too.

Maybe they could get Cody vs TJ? Super quick turn around but neither of those guys make much so wouldn't be a big deal to give them extra and get em on the card. Would love that fight. Can't believe how good Cody was against Cruz.

Khabib Offers to Pay Ferguson Difference in Pay to Make Fight Happen

Khabib Is the best shame on the UFC for not seeing how marketable he is

Bad for a whole host of reasons, but i love it. Its a big dick move from the thickest Python in the UFC's pants.

Tough to market a guy who is banned from America :/

Ban isn't in place for another 18 days!
01-02-2017 , 05:48 PM
What's the ban? I need details lol

I think it's a joke regarding Obama sending all those Russian " diplomats " home over the whole cyber hacking thing.

Lol politics
01-02-2017 , 06:27 PM
Or Trump banning all muslims.
01-02-2017 , 06:42 PM
^^^ although DFW & DJT are buddies so I'm sure Khabib will get a 'certified good Muslim' green crescent badge & admission to America.

Khabib is charismatic & has a good mic game but half his UFC wins are by decision. That said anyone who puts a beatdown on Conor is likely to become a big star. And he'll hype the fight well. That $200k thing is very strange - is Khabib even on $200k a fight?
01-02-2017 , 06:47 PM
He wins he gets Conor and big time money.

He could be Russia's GSP.
01-02-2017 , 07:09 PM
I think Khabib just says a lot of crazy stuff on twitter to get people talking. He was on 26k/26k at UFC 205.
01-02-2017 , 07:11 PM
Dana already sounds like he considers Khabib the #1 contender, but I think Khabib is smart enough to know all that matters is who Conor wants to fight. And if Khabib beats tony it's much, much harder to avoid him.

I still can't believe Cody and Dom. I need to rewatch, but drunk and screaming at the TV, I thought Cody kind of washed him. Dom wasn't out of it, but he was getting beat and taunted. I see a few of you giving it to Dom so I need to double check.

Cody's footwork is just insane for MMA (this comes from boxing since age 6). He's able to stay on balance almost constantly and slips Dom's punches effortlessly. When Dom does land, he's often hitting with the inside or outside of his hands (the cut Cody suffers in rd. 1 comes from the side of Dom's glove slicing his eye). When Cody hits, he's putting his knuckles on Dom's chin.

Round by Round, I had it 48-46, but judging the fight as a whole, Dom got tooled and looked thoroughly outclassed.

As an aside, I've watched it twice now and can't seem to make sense of the "headbutt cut" stuff. They show a replay but it looks like Cody's head hits the crown of Dom's head while Dom was cut over the left eye. Not seeing that as the cause.

Yeah, I didn't see how the cut could be from clashing heads either.

Rogan explained that the guys in the truck said it was from a headbutt and that he gets his information from them after they look at it from multiple angles, he explained that he usually takes their word since he doesnt have the time to look at it live nor can he see it from multiple angles like they do.
